YouTube adventures part -34- Make the videos you want to make?

I think most people that start making videos on YouTube make videos they like, because why would you make videos you don't like? Well when people get succes with their channel they're sometimes influenced by viewers and that can lead to making other videos. Maybe they don't hate making these videos but some YouTubers do lose sight on what they once loved to do and end up making videos that don't really make them happy.

Making videos you like.

I don't think it's a bad thing to please your viewers with some videos they like to see, but you shouldn't lose sight on what makes you happy and make videos that you want to make. So if you really like making videos about a certain game then by all means make those videos, even if not everyone is happy with that you should keep in mind that it's not really about pleasing other people but doing something you like to do. I know that this can be scary for some people that earn money with YouTube, because if you don't keep your viewers happy then they will stop watching your videos. At least that's what some people fear and they might be right. But you shouldn't let that keep you from trying other things or making videos you like to make.

Of course you can make videos for your viewers, if they want to see you play a certain game then you can do that and there's nothing wrong with that. But if you want to make other videos then you should do that, maybe not everyone will like it but if it makes you happy then it's not a good thing to ignore that. For example you really love playing Resident Evil but hardly any of your viewers is interested in that, I can see how this keeps you from posting Resident Evil videos but if it makes you happy to make those videos then you can do it anyway. You could make the videos they like to see and make the videos you want to make, this might be a bit more work for you but this way you keep your viewers happy and you keep yourself happy which is important!

Sometimes YouTubers like to make different type of videos or they switch to a different videos. For example someone who used to make a lot of gaming videos now makes a lot of vlogs and someone who used to upload gameplay videos of twenty minutes now makes a montage of him or her playing a game for about 3 minutes. That's rough sometimes for viewers but you should understand that YouTubers sometimes change or want to do things different and you might not like it but you will be surprised by the amount of things you can get used to. Maybe at first you'll hate it but eventually you might like it. My point is that you shouldn't be too quick to judge and give people a chance, just because they make different videos doesn't mean that they automaticly suck. It's still the same person who makes them and if you like his or her old videos then there's a good chance that you might like his or her new videos as well.
