Buying older games instead of new games

Have you ever had moments that you just feel that there aren't any games coming out you're interested in and you decide to buy older games? I'm not saying that there aren't any fun games coming out right now but it's nice to check out some older games that often have good prices and are still a lot of fun to play.

Old vs new, what's better?

It's easy to say that new games are better but I know from my own experiences that this isn't always true. Sometimes old games are just better, even if the graphics aren't that impressive with some of the new games and perhaps the controls are a bit old fashioned but that doesn't make it bad games! I know from experience that some games are actually pretty good eventhough they're from several years ago, some of those games I consider better than the game you see today. Not just because I had more fun with the older games but also the story, the characters and the gameplay was just way more interesting than some of the games you see today. That doesn't take away the technology upgrades in modern games. Of course some people say they don't care about graphics, I'm one of those people, but I definitely like games with nice graphics. So going back to older games can be rough sometimes, because it's often quite a difference when you play a game from 2016 and then go back to a game from 2010.

Old games are a better buy for gamers with less money to spend?

Absolutely! Sure you can try to be big spender and try to buy all the new games but that's an expensive hobby! That doesn't mean that you can't buy new games but if you just want to play another game then it might be a smart idea to look for games that are a bit older, because those are usually for sale and you can really save some money for another game that can be just as much fun and sometimes even more fun than a game that has just launched. For example I bought Borderlands: the Handsome collection which was for sale. So I got two games for 30 Euros, which is a pretty sweet deal and should keep me busy for a couple of weeks. If I bought for example ReCore, which is also an interesting game, then that would cost me 40 Euros and I would only have one game and a game that will probably take me half a week or perhaps even a week (depending how much you play on one day) to beat. So I think you can guess what the better deal is.
