YouTube adventures part -33- Depending on YouTube?

It's weird in a way when you think about it but YouTube provides a lot of jobs to people. Maybe you've never thought about it but there are a lot of people who earn money with their YouTube videos and the moment YouTube would disappear or wouldn't be working (for example hackers make it impossible to get on the site) then these people have a huge problem. Which kind of makes you wonder...


How much are you depending on YouTube?


I don't earn money with YouTube videos, which makes sense because my videos aren't that amazing and most of them are of low quality. This is something I'm fine with because it's just something I do for fun. If I truly wanted to earn money with YouTube I would have to first improve my videos and get a lot more viewers to actually make that work. But for now I'm fine with how things are.


Yesterday I couldn't get on YouTube and the same happened Wednesday afternoon and evening. Which made it difficult to post a video, now for me this would be a small inconvenience because not being able to upload a video isn't a big deal for me. But for someone that earns money with YouTube videos it means not being able to earn anything, oh sure maybe with some older videos but if no one would have acces to YouTube then he or she wouldn't earn anything.


It's kind of scary when you think about it, one moment everything is fine and the other moment you suddenly can't earn anything. Of course YouTube is going strong and I doubt that it will disappear any time soon, but if it does then that means several people will have to make changes or probably move on to other things. For example a lot of YouTubers also have a Twitch account for streaming and earn money with that as well.


So maybe you're wondering, should I invest in a future on YouTube? Well you could play it safe and do something else but if you really like making videos and you have succes with your channel then it's not a bad move to invest in that career and try to make the most out of it. Maybe some will hate you for it but we all have to eat and bills don't pay themself, so if you can earn some money with YouTube then that's not a bad thing!

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Button bashing is nothing new but I do seem to see it in more and more games, even games that could easily do without this abusive way of treating your controller. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with. These kind of players are so serious that they probably left the fun behind when they started the game. Sigh... Serious gamers are lame gamers? There is nothing wrong about being serious, but I think there is a time and a place for everything. Mortal Kombat X isn´t just another fighting game?

You´ve probably seen the announce trailer of Mortal Kombat X, then you probably also know that it shows two familiar characters fighting against eachother. At that point you´re probably still thinking that it´s just more of the same but with a better coat of paint, I understand that pessimist look and it´s not often wrong. But from what I´ve heard about Mortal Kombat X is that it´s going to be more than just a new game in the Mortal Kombat game series. What´s new? Apparently there will be more fighting styles for one character, giving everyone his or her own favourite style to use against opponents. There was something familiar in another Mortal Kombat game where they also had weapons in a fighting style, but this seems to go a bit deeper and more unique. Of course these are just words at this point, nothing has been proven just yet!
