CoD Infinite Warfare multiplayer is just like Black Ops 3 multiplayer?
After seeing the multiplayer trailer for CoD Infinite Warfare I couldn't help but recognize some Black Ops 3 elements, especially when I saw some multiplayer gameplay videos. Sure the actions looks fast and even fun in my opinion, but isn't it a lot like Black Ops 3? I might be mistaken and perhaps they're completely different games but I can't help but see similarities.
Infinite Warfare is just like Black Ops 3?
I wouldn't say it's just like Black Ops 3, mostly because Infinite Warfare takes place in space and on other planets while Black Ops 3 takes place in the future but you're still on Earth. Also multiplayer is a bit different, now you don't have specialists but combat rigs that give a different playstyle. For example you can be Warfighter (a mid range assault who has a weapon that instantly kills enemies), Stryker (tactical support class with a weapon that can fire blackholes or something like that), Phantom (a marksman that can be invisible for a short time), Merc (heavy infantry that can hold a shield and charge through enemies), FTL (an assassin that can teleport quickly from one spot to another spot) and Synaptic (this is a close quarters combat specialist that can turn into a type of dog robot and kill enemies in one hit while sprinting at them on four legs). You charge these special abilities with kills and/or getting points other ways in a match. So this looks a lot like the specialist system with their abilities in Black Ops 3, but these abilities are a bit different and some of them are really crazy (yes dog robot I'm talking about you)! Also the futuristic setting and the movement in the game reminds you a lot of Black Ops 3, the wall running and the jumps for example. But is Infinite Warfare just like Black Ops 3? Not really, but there are definitely similarities!
Is this game worth checking out?
I must admit that the multiplayer trailer looks cool, the combat rig system looks like fun and I must admit that I'm interested. But I don't know if I want to dive into another CoD game and be bored with it after a month which happened to me with the previous two CoD games. It sure looks great at first but then you just get tired of it so quickly. The whole fast and futuristic gameplay and setting is really getting repetitive and I'm more interested in something different, for example Battlefield 1 gives you World War I and that's not a war that has been shown in a lot of games. My problem with Infinite Warfare is that it's probably going to be another first person game that will be fun at first but you get bored with rather sooner than later which is a shame because games like CoD should keep you busy for months with multiplayer and all the dlc that comes out and somehow it doesn't feel that way to me anymore. Even the zombie mode in Infinite Warfare is looking less interesting, I appreciate that they brought that into the game but it just looks so weird with the 80's look and it just feel like something completely different than zombie mode that you know and love from the Black Ops games. Maybe that was the intention but this just look so bright and it's almost hurting my eyes. I hope that Infinite Warfare turns out to be a lot more fun than what most people think at this moment because a lot of people love to jump on the hate train. Then there are people that say they only get the game to get the CoD 4 remake but in all honesty I think a lot of people will check out Infinite Warfare because what kind of idiot buys a game to get another game? So you'll never play Infinite Warfare? Well it's your money and you can do with that whatever you like, but if I would buy Infinite Warfare for whatever reason then I would at least give it a chance and not automaticly assume that it's going to be bad.
