Multiplayer games make you miserable?
After spending several weeks in multiplayer games I decided to play a single player game, at first I didn't really notice a difference and then suddenly I actually enjoyed playing the game. I had fun doing just random things, while in the multiplayer games I would get upset over little things and just have a bad time in the majority of multiplayer matches. Does that mean that multiplayer games makes me bitter or does that just mean I prefer playing single player games?
Multiplayer games make you feel worse?
Let me say it a bit different, multiplayer games can make you feel like shit when things go wrong. The same counts for single player games, but the good thing about single player games is that it's just you. If you fail it's your fault, unless the game screws you over, and there's not more to it than that. But in multiplayer there could be a lot of reasons why things go badly. Having team mates that suck, people that don't communicate or want to work together as a team, and constantly getting killed by campers and other try hards usually make you feel miserable. No matter how much fun a game can be when you endure a lot of deaths in a game or lose several times in a row then you're not going to be happy and when you're not happy then you really have to ask yourself why you're still playing the game. The problem with multiplayer is that you never know what you get. You could get an amazing team that destroys the other team or you can get a horrible team that gets annihilated by the other team. The worst part is that you sometimes figure this out really fast and when you know you're in a bad team it means you have to endure the remaining time of the match in this team or you're going to be that rage quit guy or girl that everyone hates. Multiplayer can really make you feel miserable, especially if you have bad luck and just keep losing and failing in every multiplayer game.
Single player is less frustrating?
That depends, there are definitely single player games out there that are frustrating. Have you ever played Resident Evil 6? Then you know that part in Jake's campaign in chapter 2 where you have to run away from that monster in the mine by quickly opening doors and then closing them behind you. The amount of times I failed there because my computer controlled partner didn't move fast enough or me having trouble opening the doors fast enough (you have to quickly spin your analog stick for quite some time) because my fingers were hurting was extremely frustrating! So don't think that single player is perfect because it's not. But I think a lot of gamers have a single player game that they love to play, something that calms them down and they just enjoy playing. For example for me it's games like Dragon Age: Inquisition, Skyrim or Don't starve. They're all fun games to play and they're not that frustrating. It often helps me to relax playing these games and after some frustrating multiplayer matches that's exactly what you need sometimes. So if multiplayer games are making you feel miserable then switch to other games that make you feel better, it beats staying in the game that makes you miserable because things will only go worse.
