Youtube adventures part 8

When you start with your youtube channel you're often alone, unless you started with friends but I think a lot of people have a youtube channel which is full of videos made by the owner of the channel. This might work for you but even youtube gives you advice that you should work together with other youtubers, because this will give you a better chance to let your channel grow and it's also more interesting to add some diversity. But this does raise one big question!

How do you get youtube friends?

It's tricky to get youtube friends because some people just want you to subscribe to them and they'll often offer to subscribe to you, but I doubt that's what you're looking for. Then there are people that have a lot more subscribers than you and don't want to work with you, at least not if you only have a handful of subscribers. Which makes sense in a way but you can imagine that this doesn't really improve your chances to find youtube friends and it will demoralize you very quickly!

You could try to look for people who have about the same amount of subscribers as you and offer them to work together, but then there are other things that might cause problems. For example do you have the same console? Do you have the same games? Do you have the same time zone? Seriously time zone? Yes time zone because if you're from Europe and the other person is from Australia then that makes it a bit more difficult to play together. There are a lot of things that will make it more difficult to play games with someone else, but it's not completely impossible. So if you meet a nice person that wants to work with you then I would take that opportunity and try to make it work.

That doesn't mean you have to take every opportunity, for example if you have hardly anything in common with someone else and you even play on different consoles or the other person prefers to play on a computer and you prefer to play on a console then you really have to ask yourself if you want to work with that person. It's nothing personal but I'd say it's just looking at how functional that would be, because in the end you want it to work out for both you and the other person. Thanks to the internet distance doesn't have to be an issue but if you play on your Xbox One and the other person has a Playstation 4 then it will be difficult to play games together.

Working together with other people isn't just fun, it can also do wonders for your youtube channel. The only problem is finding people, this is something that can be difficult for people with small youtube channels but maybe even people with big youtube channels sometimes have issues meeting other people with whom they want to work together. I think it's better that you just do what you like to do, instead of looking actively for youtube friends. Hopefully that will attract some interesting people to your channel but don't be afraid to ask other youtubers for help. If you're polite and show others that you're fun to work with then I'm certain that there will be people interested in working with you. Just remember that it's about having a good time and not trying to get the most subscribers!
