Playing games for achievements/trophies?

Sometimes I see people with a gamerscore that is pretty high, for example if you have more than 300.000 points then I say that's a lot! But how do people get on such a high score or get that many trophies? Maybe some people just play a lot of games but then there are also people that deliberately play easy games, games where you can get a lot of achievements or trophies without that much effort, just to boost their achievements and/or trophies total amount.


Why do people play games for achievements/trophies?


Because they want to get a high gamerscore fast and/or want to get a lot of trophies (preferbly platinum trophies). If you still don't understand then you probably don't care at all about achievements and trophies, which is probably a good thing because a lot of lives have been ruined because of those achievements and trophies! But for those that do care about achievements and trohies then it's about getting as many as you can and what easier way to get them than in a game that's easy and it helps you get them quickly. So in a day you could fully complete a game and get all achievements and trophies. For achievement and trophy hunters that's the best thing that can happen, but could you really call it an achievement or a trophy when it took you hardly any trouble to get them? Probably not...


Is it such a bad thing to get achievements and trophies the easy way?


Not really, I mean I wouldn't hold it against someone if they got a lot of achiements and trophies that way. But if that person is bragging about his or her total amount and how they have a higher gamerscore or more trophies than you then I would tell them to shut up because getting achievements and trophies the easy way doesn't get you any respect! I know that some people love to complete games, get all the achievements and trophies in a game, but if that mostly happens in easy games then I don't think a lot of people will be impressed with that. It still looks nice on your profile but I wouldn't brag about it, especially when most of the games you completed are easy games that took you hardly any effort to complete.

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Movie Monday: Mr & Mrs Smith

There are movie that might not look good at first, when you hear about it, but once you see the movie then you know that it's a fantastic movie. What really made Mr & Mrs Smith so good was the acting of the two main stars in the movie, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. They had so much fun making this movie that it's an absolute joy to watch the movie. Which is good news for people that are looking for a fun movie to watch! Married to a spy? The story of Mr & Mrs Smith is pretty simple, a man is a spy and marries to a woman not knowing that she's a spy too. Apparently both of them are unaware of eachothers activities until their paths cross in their spy life, which leads to a lot of fighting and explosions. It's really not the action that makes this movie so much fun to watch but it's the humour. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with. These kind of players are so serious that they probably left the fun behind when they started the game. Sigh... Serious gamers are lame gamers?
