Things you hate in games you like

Finally the game you've been looking forward to playing is out, it's so much fun to play and everything seems to be great. But then an annoying part shows up and ruins everything! Do you recognize this? Well then you're playing a game you like with something in it you hate. You might think this doesn't happen a lot but it happens more times then it should!

Why do developers put crap in a good game?

I don't think they deliberately put something bad in a game, they probably thought it would be fun or interesting to try something else or put something in the game that would challenge players a bit so people wouldn't breeze through the game just like that. Unfortunately that often leads to annoying situations and lot of frustration, gee thanks developers! But it's not easy being a developer, I'm not even talking about making the game, because if you make the game to easy people will be a bunch of whining assholes but when you make it too tough then people will also be a bunch of whining assholes. I guess sometimes you just can't win, but I do think that most developers are just trying to give you a fun experience in a game. Unfortunately not everyone has the same thing in mind when they think of fun, so it will lead sometimes to frustration even if it was meant to be fun.

Getting something you weren't asking for?

This happens a lot in sequels, you played the first game and that was fun but then when you play the second game things are suddenly annoying because they added something you didn't ask for and it kind of ruins the fun in the game. A good example of this is the batmobile in Batman Arkham Knight, sure the batmobile is fun for some time but then when it gets shoved in your face with almost every turn you make in the game then it becomes annoying and it feels too much forced into the game. It's fun to drive around in the streets of Gotham City in the batmobile but if you need to get acces to a building and you need to make jumps and find your way over rooftops with the batmobile then it becomes annoying. I think it's better to stick with what works and keep strange things or different things to a minimum or perhaps it's even better to leave them out completely.

How do you deal with annoying parts in a game?

If you really like the game and want to finish it then I suggest you just push through, it's going to be annoying and frustrating but the only way to make it through is to push forward. It's not going to be fun but if you want to make progress and eventually beat the game then you better push forward or else you'll be stuck in that annoying part for a long time! For example a boss fight in Dying Light where you lose all your weapons and medkits and you have to fight with a shitty melee weapon, it's annoying but just push forward. In Dragon Age: Origins in the mage tower when you're in the fade, just push through and hope you can get it done within an hour. In Assassin's Creed Syndicate (I could say every Assassin's Creed game because these type of missions show up in all of the AC games) a mission where you have to follow someone without being noticed, it's annoying but just push through this and hopefully things get better in the next mission. I don't have great advice here, but unfortunately it's a part of certain games (a lot of games actually) and apparently you can't get one without the other. So my advice is just to push through the annoying parts and then enjoy the game when things get better, it's rough sometimes but hopefully the good parts make up for the bad parts in a game.
