Watching other people play games makes you a better gamer?
If you check on youtube then you probably noticed that there are a lot of videos about gaming, a lot of these videos are made by gamers and showing people some gameplay in a game. This might not seem interesting to everyone but did you know that watching another player play a game can have a positive effect on you? I'm not saying that it's a guarantee but seeing someone play a game can actually helps you do better in a game.
Watching someone else play a game makes you better at that game?
It's possible, especially if this person is pretty good and gives you some nice tips and tricks. Of course you can ignore that and just do your own thing but don't underestimate the power to learn from others just by watching them play a game, even when they don't do so well you gain information and it should help you do better yourself in a match. You'll see what works and what doesn't work, also you learn which weapons (for example in a first person shooter) or characters suit you better than others. You can try to figure this out on yourself, but it's nice when you already have a headstart with this and know exactly what to use and how to play. Seeing someone else play a game also helps you get ready for the game, for example when I want to play Black Ops 3 I watch a couple of Black Ops 3 multiplayer videos on youtube. This helps me get ready and in a way warms up my brain for what's to come. You could also play a couple of games against bots, that also works but if you like watching other people play games then it's a nice bonus that it can also help you do better in a game.
But what if you watch yourself play games?
This is something I've been doing for the last couple of years, I sometimes record moments in the game and then check those out every now and then. This is an excellent way of improving yourself, because now you see exactly what you did right and what you did wrong in a game. In some games you also have a theater mode and you can check matches you have played before there as well. It's actually quite interesting to see yourself play a game, I definitely get good information from that and it helps me improve my skills in a game. Sometimes things go so fast in a game that you don't always realize what exactly happened, so it's nice when you have the opportunity to take a closer look. It might seem silly to watch others or yourself play games but it can actually help you improve your skills, even if it doesn't help you that much then it can still be interesting to see how others play games or how you play a game.
