The best game of 2015!
It's the final day of the year, in case you haven't heard all the idiots wasting a lot of money on their firework hobby. But this isn't about making fun of people that waste money on something stupid, no this is about the best game of 2015 and this year had several interesting contestors! So how to pick a winner from all that? Well let's take a closer look to games I think are pretty good and worthy of the title of best game of the year! Yes this isn't anything official, in case you hadn't figured that out, just which game I think is the best game of 2015.
My favourite games of 2015.
1. Metal Gear Solid V: the Phantom Pain.
Do I even need to explain why this game is a candidate for game of the year? This game has an amazing story, eventhough somewhere in the middle it kind of goes slow and weird for a moment, but the ending is definitely memorable. But also the gameplay and freedom in this game are incredible, play the game the way you want to play it and complete missions on your own way. Wether that's with stealth or go in guns blazing. The characters in the game are quite impressive, they really come to life and make you feel something for them. It's up to you if that's a positive or a negative feeling. It's truly a work of art and Hideo Kojima's masterpiece, up to this point, in my opinion!
2. Life is strange.
You might not have expected this title here but this is a game that has pleasantly surprised me, I heard people talk about it and gave it a try and I never had any regrets about it! It's an amazing story about a teenage girl that discovers she can rewind time, this gives you as the player the opportunity to change things but with everything you change you also alter the timeline a bit and that can have some serious consequences! This is a game where the characters come to life, where you feel bad when you do something bad and feel good when you do something good. The soundtrack makes you feel right at home, as if you've always been in Arcadia Bay (where the game takes place). It's a story about friendship, how far would you go to save someone you care about? It's truly a beautiful game!
3. Fallout 4.
The unexpected suprise this year, because I didn't see Fallout 4 coming this year or even at all to be honest with you. Of course I hoped that there would be a Fallout 4 but looking at our hopes for Half Life 3 you know that wishes don't always come true or will take a long time before they come true. But Fallout 4 was announced and I loved it from the first moment I saw this game, the more I learned about it the more I wanted to play it and lose myself in the story and all the other things you can do and there's a lot you can do in Fallout 4! You can create your own character and your character can even speak now, not just words that pop up in a conversation but your characters speaks! What's even better is that you have options what your character can say and even put your name in the game and some NPCs will mention you by name! Fallout 4 offers you a big world to explore full of good and bad people, monsters and idiots. But there's hardly ever a dull moment, especially when you look at all the things you can do and how you have multiple endings giving you the motivation for multiple playthroughs. The game might not be perfect but it's a lot of fun to play!
More amazing games!
These games are not in my top 3 but they're definitely fun to play! Assassin's Creed Syndicate is an amazing game where you can play as two different assassins and mess up London with your new tricks and abilities. I really like the characters, Jacob and Evie Frye, and I hope to see more of them in other AC games. Black Ops 3 is also pretty good, you might think it's just another FPS but with the flexible controls and specialist abilities it really brings something new to the table without changing the game too much. This game might not earn the most original game prize but it's absolutely a lot of fun to play, at least if you enjoy playing first person shooters! Rainbow Six Siege, if only multiplayer worked proper then I would even consider this game to be in my favourite games list because this game is a lot of fun. This is a game where you have to turn of your CoD brain and use communication and tactics to beat your team. Rushing into battle usually gets you killed and lone wolf tactics don't always work out so well for you. In this game you can destroy almost anything and create new ways to get to the objective or your enemies, add that to the one life each round and you have a game where tension rises the further you get in a match. The different operators give players several options to take down another team or give you the option to defend yourself against another team. Evolve might not be that much fun on your own but in a team with other people you're in for a lot of fun, are hunting down a monster or is the monster hunting on you? It gives players the chance to show their skills and their will to survive, wether that's as a hunter or as the monster! Of course there are other good games, but I think I mentioned most of the games that are worth mentioning when it comes to amazing games of 2015.
So what is the best game of 2015?
I think that Fallout 4 is the best game of 2015. Why? Because of the freedom and all the things you can do. Sure there are more games that give you freedom and options but is that also with the Fallout humour and style? In Fallout 4 things are weird but fun. For example one moment you walk in the wasteland and you find a fridge and a voice comes from within of a kid that wants to get out. Weird right? What about dressing up as a vigilante and killing criminals? Of course your main goal is to find your son, but that doesn't mean you can't do other things! Building your own settlement, exploring the far corners of the Commonwealth, romancing one (or more) of your companions and be the man or woman the world needs or maybe don't need but gets anyway! Fallout 4 is the biggest surprise for me in 2015 and the moment I saw the game I knew I wanted to play it, I honestly thought that Metal Gear Solid V would be my favourite but after seeing and playing Fallout 4 I couldn't help but like Fallout 4 more. They're all amazing games but only one can be the best and for me that's Fallout 4!
I wish you a happy and safe end of the year, don't do anything stupid, and a lot of fun in the new year playing games!
