Looking back at.....Max Payne 3!

Max Payne is one of those games you probably heard of but if you ask people if they actually played it then it wouldn't suprise me that a lot of people will say that they haven't played it. It was the same for me, I heard about the Max Payne games but never played one of them, until Max Payne 3 came out on the Xbox 360, I gave it a chance and had a lot of fun playing this game!

Max against the rest!

Max Payne has a talent for making people mad, so it probably won't suprise you that in Max Payne 3 he gets himself into a lot of trouble. He's in so much trouble that he has to leave his country and move to Brazil where he gets a new job as bodyguard. Unfortunately things go wrong in Brazil once more and it leads Max into a whole lot of trouble and it will take a lot of killing to get Max out of trouble. It's a good thing that Max has his slow mo ability where he can slow time and get some easy kills, this definitely helps you when you face multiple opponents and you want avoid taking damage.

Multiplayer madness!

In multiplayer you can have a blast, especially in the gang wars mode where your team faces another team and you have to go through several game modes to see who wins. It all ends in a glorious final battle where the team with the most wins gets more lives and thus has a better chance on winning. This can lead to some amazing matches and even as a solo player you can find your place in this mode. My personal favourite is deathmatch, in this mode you take on other players all by yourself and it could get pretty tense on some maps. For example Branco HQ is a very popular map where you can get a lot of kills. Then there is also another mode where you hunt down one or two players who play as Max and Raul (Passos), they have more health, they can heal themselves a couple of times and have some good weapons to kill quickly but you can kill them quickly with a combined team effort or some good headshots or just wear them down by damaging until they can't heal anymore. I really like multiplayer in this game and with Rockstar adding the gangs into multiplayer it also gave players a taste of what's to come in GTA V where gangs would play a big role in that multiplayer.

Worth checking out?

Max Payne 3 is definitely a game you want to check out if you like third person shooters and a lot of mayhem in a game. I don't know if there are still players in multiplayer but single player alone is already a lot of fun. The game isn't that difficult and it's actually a lot of fun to spend some time just shooting at enemies and trying to go for some insane slow mo dive kills. But also the chases in vehicles are pretty cool, which keep the action in the game and the fun as well! I spend a lot of hours in multiplayer and even months later I would still go back to check it out every now and then. I hope that there is still activity in multiplayer so you could check that out yourself but there's enough to do in the game with challenges like score attack or trying to beat the game with one life to keep you busy for quite some time!
