Sinful Sunday: There's a lot of anger out there!
Even if you never check the news and live under a rock then I'm still quite certain that you've noticed that there is a lot more anger out there. People get pissed off quite fast and this sometimes leads to some bad situations. I've noticed that I get pissed off also pretty quickly, I have less patience for things that happen in the game and I find myself getting angry over something that's most likely not even worth it. Which makes me wonder, why are we all getting so angry lately?
Games make you angry?
Ah yes, this is one of those stupid things some people say. Because games are made to make people angry, oh wait they're actually made to entertain you and I doubt getting angry falls under that catagory! What games can do is frustrate you and frustration can lead to anger, especially if you endure a lot of frustration. Which is why it's important to take a break every now and then, no matter how much fun a game is too much of something is a bad thing! But even if games frustrate you then I still doubt that this is the intention of the developers, because developers don't want you to beat their game in a day or two but they also don't want to frustrate or annoy the players. You expect that this gets sorted out in the testing fase of a game, but sometimes annoying or frustrating moments slip through the cracks and find themselves in a game. For example collecting items in a game is pretty dull, if you have to do this a lot and the slightest mistake will reset the whole thing is very annoying and frustrating! So games can make you angry, but I doubt that this is the intention of the developers and if you do feel like you're getting frustrated then it's smart to take a break.
Stay away from certain game modes?
Online competitive multiplayer is a breeding ground for frustration, for example your team isn't doing so well or you face a team of campers. Try to stay calm when you get spawn camped for five minutes, it's not a bad idea to leave the match and try again later. But above everything it's important that you stick to what you like and what you can handle. If you don't have the patience for certain game modes then it's smarter to stay out of these game modes, for example in domination it's often smart not to run around like an idiot looking for other players to attack. The same counts for most other objective modes, work together as a team and if you really want to improve your chances to win and/or have a good time then communicate with the others. This is often a bit difficult in a team with random players, but it helps if you at least make an effort to communicate. If you don't like to play with others, you don't have a lot of patience and you get upset easily then you really have to ask yourself if competitive multiplayer is something you should play. Stick to what you know and what you like, that keeps frustration and so hopefully anger away or at least makes it less likely for you to get pissed off.
