2015 was a great year for gamers?
Well we're not exactly in 2016 just yet but I can't help but look back at 2015 already and I must admit that 2015 is an amazing year for gamers. I don't think I've ever bought so many games in one year and enjoyed playing most of them. Especially in Fall I had a blast with a lot of games that came out and I really hope that 2016 will have more of these great moments!
A rough start of 2015?
I was careful early 2015 because I didn't want to spend too much money on games I might not like as much and save my money for the big titles that would come out later that year. But I did check out some of the titles, for example Evolve and Dying Light. Evolve looked like a fantastic game and in a way it is, the problem is that if you play it on your own you get tired of it pretty quickly. I guess that's why a lot of gamers dropped the game after a month (I was done with it after a week). It's not that it's a bad game but how many times can you do the same thing with bots and still be motivated to keep playing? Whenever I would try to play online with others I would find random people that weren't interested in playing, most of the people I met just wanted to annoy others and at that point you're done with a game. Dying Light is also a game I was looking forward to, but the more I saw of it the more I recognized Dead Island in this game. Not that Dead Island is a bad game but after Dead Island Riptide I didn't want to buy another replica of Dead Island. But once it drops in price I bet it will be worth checking out!
A pretty good Summer for gamers?
Summer time is usually the worst for gamers but in 2015 you actually got some interesting games in the Summer. For example Batman Arkham Knight, eventhough PC had (maybe some still have) a lot of issues with this game, which is a fun game that takes you back to Gotham City and beat up some thugs as Batman. The big new thing in Arkham Knight is the Batmobile, but I must admit I wasn't a big fan of that and seeing this thing shoved into so much gameplay (for example if you had to solve a puzzle or when you have to race to complete an objective) it really made me dislike the Batmobile. Pay Day 2 Crime Wave edition is one of those games that you already know but got brushed up a bit and gets a new release on the current gen consoles. I really enjoyed playing Pay Day 2 on my Xbox 360 but I was a bit reluctant to buy it again for my Xbox One. That doesn't make it a bad game though, it's just that I don't like buying almost the exact same game twice for the full price. Once again Pay Day 2 will be a more interesting game for me when the price drops a bit. Why did I want to save my money? Because of what comes next!
Fall is the best time of the year?
Well in 2015 it was for me! All the amazing games that came out and not enough money and time to play them all! Let's start with Metal Gear Solid V, an amazing game and a lot of fun to play! I spend way too much time in this game and if it wasn't for Destiny the Taken King I'd probably spend another month in that game! Destiny the Taken King was one of those games I wasn't certain about, sure I enjoyed playing Destiny but I also had complaints about that game. Eventually I did buy the game and it was fun to be back in Destiny again, with new missions and strikes which made it fun to level up your character to level 40 and unlock new legendary and exotic gear. A month later I got Assassin's Creed Syndicate, now this game had a lot to prove to some people but the moment I saw it I knew I wanted to play it! I didn't regret that for one bit! It's a fun game and it allows you to switch between two assassins (a third one in a bonus mission) and this gives you a more unique way of playing. I had to rush myself with AC Syndicate because Halo 5 was coming out in the same month, another game a lot of fans were excited about but once it launched people had mixed feelings about it. Multiplayer was ok, sure some will say it's great and others will say it sucks but I think it's ok. I wasn't very excited about it but it's fun to play for awhile. I wasn't super excited about the story though, but maybe that's just me. Quickly after Halo 5 there would be another popular game, Black Ops 3! After two disappointing (if you have to believe the fans) CoD titles it was up to Black Ops 3 to give the fans what they wanted, a CoD game they could love and would play a lot. Once again the story was a bit rubbish in my opinion, I enjoyed the stories in Black Ops and Black Ops 2 but in Black Ops 3 it's just weird and not that interesting. Multiplayer and zombies are worth checking out! I had and still have so much fun playing multiplayer and zombie mode, it's something that will keep me busy even in 2016! Another amazing game is Fallout 4, this game just blew me away when I first saw it and I really wanted to play it! What's even more amazing is all the options you get and the choices you can make, this gives you fun in multiple playthroughs and that's pretty cool! Rise of the Tomb Raider and Rainbow Six Siege came after that, both also a lot of fun to play and really complete 2015 in my eyes. What an amazing year and the year isn't even done yet, so hopefully you had a great time playing games in 2015 and with some luck 2016 will be just as good or maybe even better!
