Keep real life nonsense out of games!

I see games as an escape from reality, so whenever people bring real life nonsense with them in games I'm annoyed. I mean do you really want to hear about the troubles of the world when you play a game? I don't think that every person that brings real life troubles with them are trying to annoy others, but it just doesn't belong in games and so I hope that real life troubles can stay where they should be and that's in the real world and not in the world of games!

What do people do in a game that annoys you?

Maybe annoy isn't the right word but it definitely doesn't belong in a game. For example after the tragedy in Paris a lot of people have the Pray for Paris text as an emblem in Call of Duty, now this is probably meant well but I don't think this belongs in a game. Especially not in a game where you shoot the shit out of eachother with guns. There are more people that have a text with fuck the terrorists or death to this or that but it's all dumb. We're playing a game, you don't need to bring real life troubles with you into a game. It's terrible what happened but that doesn't mean that it's ok to slap that in the faces of other players who are probably just trying to relax and have a good time playing a game. There are places where you can talk about these things or show how you feel about it, online multiplayer on Xboxlive or PSN isn't that place!

But people have a right to express themselves, right?

Sure, but I don't think that a game is the place for these type of expressions. Do you hate the terrorists? Ok good, but don't bring that with you in a game. I guess the developers are reluctant to act on these messages, because they would hate to remove emblems that are meant well (the Pray for Paris message for example) but they don't belong in a game. If you want to express yourself then talk with people, wether that's online in a chatroom or you meet people and share your feelings with them about something that bothers you or something you have strong opinions about. What happened in Paris isn't nonsense, but bringing that with you into a game is nonsense to me. It makes no sense to me, because when I play a game I don't want to be reminded of the terrible things that happen in the world. Games are a way to escape the horrors of the real world, let's try to keep it that way!
