Going back to an old game

Have you ever picked up an old game or plugged in an old console and played some games on that console? It might seem weird but just because games are old doesn't mean that they're bad. Sure the graphics probably look like shit, compared to graphics in games these days, but the game itself is probably still fun to play. It also depends how far back you go, because if the game is about five years old then things don't have to be so different but if you play a game from more than twenty years ago then you'll notice how much things have changed!

There's nothing wrong with old games?

Well some older games might have some issues but usually old games are still games that are fun to play, at least if you can deal with the graphics, controls and music of that time. I know that some people love playing old games, these retro gamers collect old consoles and games for those consoles. Some also have the old computers and also have some of the old games that came along with those computers. Some people might call them weird but I think that retro gamers got the right idea, just because a game is old doesn't make it bad! But I wouldn't devote all my time to that, I do enjoy playing new games and trying out new things. The past is nice and there are a lot of games I enjoyed playing but that doesn't mean I want to play them all again. But for some I wouldn't mind making an exception. For example the Legend of Zelda: the Ocarina of Time, Goldeneye 64, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic and Super Mario World. But also more recent games like Dragon Age: Origins, Halo Reach, Red Dead Redemption and Mass Effect are games I wouldn't mind playing again, they're fun to play and as long as you're having fun then I don't think it matters how old a game is or what other people think of that!

Older games are perfect for budget gamers?

Absolutely! If you don't have a lot of money to spend then it's a smart idea to check out some older games, these might not have the best graphics or the most amazing gameplay but they're still good games. As long as you're not a snob then you'd have a great time with those game, because just because they're older doesn't mean that they're suddenly not good anymore. I know it's tempting to buy some of the new games but those are expensive and if you don't really care about the new games then some older games can really be a good alternative for you. Besides older doesn't mean ancient, so you might be able to pick up some good games that are only a couple of years old. That doesn't sound that bad, does it?
