Looking back at.....the Sims 3!

It's the first day of Winter and Christmas is also in this week, so what game can combine these those things? Well there might be more games than I can think of but right now the Sims 3 is really jumping into my mind. It will take the seasons dlc to actually get the Christmas feeling in your Sims 3 game but then you're ready for anything! But how good is the Sims 3 and is it worth trading in the Sims 2 for?

The Sims 2 is better?

This might surprise you but some people actually prefer the Sims 2 over the Sims 3, I guess they invested a lot in the Sims 2 so it makes sense that they don't want to start over with the Sims 3. But in all honesty I do think that the Sims 3 is better because the dlc might be pretty much the same it does look better in the Sims 3. But if your happy with the Sims 2 and see no reason to upgrade to the Sims 3 or 4 for that matter then you can always stick with the Sims 2 until you do want to move on to the next Sims game.

The Sims 3, bigger and better!

I first had my doubts about the Sims 3, I didn't buy any dlc because I just wasn't interested in what they offered until things got interesting with the supernatural dlc and pets dlc. Later also the university dlc gave you some interesting choices in the young adult part of the sim life, which is in my opinion one of the most fun parts of a sim life. So I can't say that the Sims 3 immediately convinced me from the start but if you give it a chance then you'll see that it's actually pretty good and fun to play. I guess the biggest problem is accepting that there will always be another Sims game that will replace the old one and so it all starts over once more. Something the Sims 4 is doing right now, eventhough people aren't that interested in the Sims 4 as they were in the Sims 3 when that first launched. Maybe it's just my opinion but I think that the Sims 3 is the best Sims game so far and also has the most fun dlc.

Why should you get the Sims 3?

Well the main reason would be if you like the Sims games and prefer the realistic look over the cartoon look from the Sims 4. Of course it's never been a super realistic game, but the look of the sims in the Sims 3 was just a bit better in my opinion and I still don't like the look of the sims in the Sims 4. The dlc for the Sims 3 is also pretty good, I'm not saying it's all good but there is definitely something there that's worth holding on to the Sims 3 for. At least that's what I'm doing now! Another good point is that the Sims 3 + dlc is a lot cheaper now, so if you always wanted to play the Sims 3 and the dlc for that game then now would be a good time! In the end it all comes down to what you prefer, maybe some people love the Sims 4 and they're glad they're done with the Sims 3. I just hope that the dlc for the Sims 4 will be a bit more interesting and I must admit that I'm secretly already hoping for the Sims 5 that will bring things back to a more realistic look and will bring back some amazing dlc packs that did well on the previous Sims games.
