Games you regret buying in 2015

Now that we're at the end of 2015 it makes sense to look back at the year and when you look back you also think about what you regret. When it comes to games it's not always easy to admit that you regret buying a game, especially when it's a popular game or a game that you first had high hopes for. But unfortunately games aren't always as good as you hope they will be.

Here is my top 3!

1. Batman Arkham Knight.

I was really looking forward to this game, the graphics look good and the characters look amazing. How could this game disappoint me after two succesful games before Arkham Knight? Well it's possible and I figured that out pretty quickly. At first I was ok with the game but then the Batmobile started playing a bigger role and I got annoyed with that pretty quickly, then there's the moment where you meet the allies of Batman and they become playable, only in that area, but it's by far not as good as it was in Arkham City. What I probably regret the most about Arkham Knight is buying the season pass, what a waste of money and looking at what you get back for that I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Arkham City is my favourite Batman game and there's nothing what Arkham Knight can do about that!

2. The Elder Scrolls Online.

I wasn't certain about this game but I decided to give it a chance anyway. I guess that's the risk you take sometimes as a gamer, you think a game looks good and you buy it impulsively. Unfortunately that sometimes means you buy a game that's not as much fun as you first thought. The game is big but still it feels small to me, the main reason for this feeling is that you kind of repeat doing the same thing over and over again. Talk to this guy, go to that place, do something there and go back to the guy. I know that most RPGs are like that but I never had issues with that in Oblivion or Skyrim. I guess the amount of other players in the game also took away the special part in Tamriel, I just felt like one of many people wandering around in the game just moving onward to the next quest. Not one moment I felt like I was the hero in the story or that the story even meant anything to me. Maybe some people love it but I felt nothing for this game, which is a shame but sometimes that happens.

3. Halo 5.

This game will probably suprise you, how dare you talk about this amazing game like that? Well the game was a disappointment to me so it fits in this list. First of all the story, in the campaign, is just awful, I didn't enjoy playing that for one moment. I kept hoping things would get better but things only turned worse, especially the ending made me sick and almost ruined the entire experience I had with the Halo games. Multiplayer is fun, but I got tired with that pretty quickly as well. Sure warzone is fun but sitting in match for about twenty minutes is ok but if you have a bad team then it's receiving punishment for a long time, while in a good team you roll over another team. Arena is fun, but I miss the more open maps where you could explore and had some interesting vehicle battles. Maps like Valhalla (or the remake ragnarok) are maps I love and I just don't see that in Halo 5, because now we all need to be in an arena. Some people might love that, I'm not a big fan of that! Then there's the requisition system that gives you new stuff, but nine out of ten times it gives you stuff you don't really want. I want new armor or weapon skins but you hardly ever get that, that's just frustrating and probably designed to keep you busy for month to collect something good. I had my fun with that in Destiny and I don't want to go through that again in Halo! Halo 5 is a bad game, I'm just disappointed in it and so I regret buying it because there are other games out there that I could've bought.

Maybe you have your own list of games you regret buying, unless you make excellent choices when buying games. I know that the list of games you regret buying can be different and maybe for some people it's a lot bigger, but I think that 2015 was a good year and with only three games in my list of games that I regret buying I must admit that I'm actually happy with that. It could be much worse and I definitely had years where I bought a lot more games that I regret buying!
