Looking back at.....games of 2015!
I already talked about some games of 2015, but I wanted to talk in general about the whole year because a lot happened in 2015 and not all of it was good. I think even hardcore gamers, as in spend a lot of time behind your computer and/or console, noticed how fucked up 2015 was. Terrorist attacks and the whole immigrant disaster are probably the two biggest problems we had in 2015 but there's more. For example an idiot that might actually become the president of the United States, do you know who I'm talking about? Then there is a global problem which is climate change, I know some people don't believe in that but it's warm outside here right now and we're at the end of December. I don't think that's ever happened here before. Then there ar floods in one country, starvation in another, twisters wrecking towns and fires that scorch the Earth. It's almost as if predictions from the Bible are happening right here and now. Well maybe that's a bit extreme but 2015 was a weird year, a terrible year and a year you might want to forget. But what about games in 2015? Was 2015 also a bad year for gamers or did gamers actually get a good year?
It was a good year!
I don't think I've ever played so many great games in one year, especially in Fall a lot of amazing games launched and it kept me stuck to my console and I didn't complain about that once! I think the only thing I have to regret is that I bought so many games, which hurts my wallet a bit but at least I wasn't bored! Even now I enjoy playing games I picked up more than a month ago, it seems silly but some games are just so much fun to play that I don't want to stop playing them. It's because of that reason that I finished Rise of the Tomb Raider almost a month after I bought it at launch, because I never found some time to actually play the game because I kept hanging around in Halo 5, Black Ops 3 and Rainbow Six Siege multiplayer. I consider that as a good thing, having so much fun with games that you can't stop playing them.
It was a bad year!
Unfortunately 2015 also gave us some games that turned out to be less impressive, for example Batman Arkham Knight. I think a lot of gamers we're looking forward to this game and then it turned out to be less impressive, what's worse is that there is an expensive season pass that gives you mediocre dlc. Then there are the issues (mostly for PC users) with the game that makes it even more frustrating to play, even on consoles you sometimes see the game freeze and that is quite annoying! Some people also didn't like Metal Gear Solid V, eventhough it's a fantastic game it's weird how the second and third part of the game are compared to the first part. Because missions in the second and third part are mostly missions you already did but then on a higher difficulty, for example if you're spotted you lose or start the mission with no weapons and equipment. I still think it's a good game but it's a shame that the game kind of feels like it wasn't completed and that becomes even more clear when you see the missions that you could've gotten after mission 50. Something I didn't like, maybe others also didn't like that, are the campaign missions in Halo 5 and Black Ops 3. Multiplayer is fantastic but the campaign is just weird and for the first time I didn't enjoy playing that. Another game that turned out to be less impressive is Evolve, sure it's a lot of fun to play but you get tired of it quickly and after that you really have to motivate yourself to keep playing. It's one of those games where you need other people to keep the game interesting but if people are massively abandoning the game then there isn't a reason anymore to stick around. The Elder Scrolls Online is also one of those games I was looking forward to but it turned out to be less interesting than I hoped for, maybe some people enjoyed playing that game but I got tired of it within a week.
Games of 2015.
I think that the games in 2015 are pretty good, I mean looking at the big picture and then it's difficult to deny how much fun it was to play games in 2015. I guess it also depends how well you picked your games, for example buying games that suck usually make you a bit more negative about the games in that year but if you pick some good games then you're more positive. But I think that you have to admit that there are a lot of good games in 2015 and I'm pretty certain that you at least picked one or two good games from the total amount. So I think it's safe to say that most gamers had a good year playing games, maybe it wasn't all spectacular but there are a lot of good games out there and it's definitely worth checking at least some of those out.
