Until Dawn, next level horror game?
At this point a lot of people must have heard about the game Until Dawn, a Playstation 4 exclusive horror game that puts you in control of several characters that can all die in this game. You decide their fate with the choices you make, so if you make a bad choice your character will die and that will affect the story. This makes things a lot more interesting and at the same time scary! But is this game really what (survival) horror gamers are looking for?
Just one of the guys/gals.
In this game you play as almost all characters you meet and see, at least at one point in the game, which gives you a unique perspective from their point of view. What is interesting is that each character will be in a dangerous situation where he or she could potentially die, which means that there is no relaxing if you play as a certain character and also no guarantee to survive if you play as one of the characters that is voiced by a well known actor. This keeps the game scary because every sound could be your doom, the shadows that move and the things you see in a glimpse could be the last thing you'll see with that character!
See the future?
While playing this game you'll find totems that will give you a vision of the future of that character, it sometimes helps you (with a decision) and other times it will warn you (for example if there's someone or something dangerous around). If you ignore these totems then that's a good way to get your character killed, unless you happen to make the right choice. These totems actually do help you, eventhough sometimes it feels like they're just telling you what will happen (with a death totem you see your character die) and that there is nothing you can do about it. Well you can beat the game with all playable characters alive, so remember that when you play Until Dawn!
Multiple endings?
It's not just save every character or let every character die, you can also save some and lose some. This will result in different situations in the game and characters will act a bit different depending on the choices you make. For example if you did something to a certain character then that character might not help you in the future and actually let you die, which is quite brutal but the difference between one choice and the other choice. A masked psycho is going after the characters in this game and it's up to you to survive the night, do you think you can survive and save all characters? Good luck!
