Nobody wants to be the healer?
When you play in a team then it´s always a good idea to have a healer or at least someone that looks after the others. I know it´s not the most exciting job in a team but it´s often the most important, maybe that´s why a lot of people don´t want to be the healer because he or she will often get the blame for defeat. Which kind of makes you wonder, what´s so bad about being a healer?
In a team full of damage dealers and tanks there is always a need for a healer, someone that keeps the others alive even when hell itself seems to be raining down on them. To stand there in the middle of a battle with the risk of his or her own life looking after others. That sounds very brave and interesting and yet a lot of people don´t want that because they think healing is boring. But is it boring? I´d say you´ll see plenty of action and by keeping your team alive you´ll probably get praise along with it, just remember that people will blame you if you fail to save them or if the team dies. It´s always easy to blame others instead of looking at yourself. I mean if some idiot runs towards a group of enemies that are close to another group of enemies then it´s not a smart move, sure your team might make it but these things are better if you think about it first and of course talk about it with your team.
Don´t piss off the healer or you won´t be healed? That´s something I´ve heard a couple of time from some people but I don´t think that is how it goes, because if a healer would decide not to heal certain people then that can be a disaster for everyone! Because the smaller your group is the more you´re going to need every member in it. So even if you don´t like someone then I doubt a good healer will be so childish not to heal someone. It might have an effect on who he or she heals first, which doesn´t have to be but I´d say you´d probably feel more likely to heal a friend first than someone that treats you like dirt. But once again a good healer won´t let that be a deciding factor, often the one that can keep the team going is a priority and that´s probably the most important decision for a healer. A tank can be a good distraction so a healer can do his or her work, so keeping a tank alive is often a good idea. But never forget about damage dealers that can kill your enemies which gives you some more space to breath.
Being a healer is boring? I think sometimes a healer doesn´t have interesting skills, but sometimes healers can be awesome. I think in World of Warcraft healers sometimes have good skills that make it fun to play as one, but even in a game like Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare you have an interesting healer class. You´re not the most powerful character in the team, but you´re the most important one! It´s definately not a class for everyone but those that heal good are legends among other gamers!
