Looking back at.....Fable!

What can I say about Fable? Well a lot! But let me first start with how I actually moved from the Playstation to the Xbox, because that was thanks to Fable. I saw some screenshots of Fable and I just knew that I´d love this game, I was so upset that it didn´t launch on the Playstation and it really made me think about buying the Xbox. But should you buy a console just for one game? Probably not but I did it! Just so you know, I didn´t regret a thing!


Fable let´s you play as a young boy that loses almost everything, he´s then invited to join the guild of heroes and you start your training as a hero. When you graduate you set out in the world and then you can decide if you want to do good or bad. I also love that your character will change into an angel or devil type depending on the choices you make. Instead of naming your character you can choose a title, you can buy these at vendors and then people will call you that. At first I didn´t know that and people kept calling me chicken chaser, of course I didn´t like that one bit! The humour in Fable is great, I´ve laughed so much and that´s really the magic of this game and not the actual magic you can perform in this game. You can put points in certain areas when you collect enough experience orbs and that will also influence your appearance. So more points in strength will give your character more muscles, points in dexterity will make your character taller and points in will (aka magic) will put magic symbols on your body. So whatever type you prefer your character will start to look more like that. Of course you can mix it up as well and creat an all powerful hero!


When I think of Fable I think of the possibilities, the adventures you can have and of course the fun you can have! It´s probably one of my favourite games of all time and eventhough the sequels have more things to do and more improved things it´s the first Fable game that I truly love. I´m so happy they made Fable anniversary so you can play the game on your Xbox 360, it´s truly a funny game that is worth checking out if you haven´t done so already! Fable is really one of those games you play for fun, sure it´s nice to discover new things or just be a scumbag and kill everyone in a town but above everything else it´s fun! I guess I could go on and on about how much fun this game is but really you should check it out yourself or get back into the game, because it´s really a game that´s worth playing more than just once!

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Button bashing is nothing new but I do seem to see it in more and more games, even games that could easily do without this abusive way of treating your controller. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with. These kind of players are so serious that they probably left the fun behind when they started the game. Sigh... Serious gamers are lame gamers? There is nothing wrong about being serious, but I think there is a time and a place for everything. When I play a game with my friends then I'm not being serious nor am I serious when I start up some random multiplayer match. Sure it's nice to win but it's not everything! Mortal Kombat X isn´t just another fighting game?

You´ve probably seen the announce trailer of Mortal Kombat X, then you probably also know that it shows two familiar characters fighting against eachother. At that point you´re probably still thinking that it´s just more of the same but with a better coat of paint, I understand that pessimist look and it´s not often wrong. But from what I´ve heard about Mortal Kombat X is that it´s going to be more than just a new game in the Mortal Kombat game series. What´s new? Apparently there will be more fighting styles for one character, giving everyone his or her own favourite style to use against opponents. There was something familiar in another Mortal Kombat game where they also had weapons in a fighting style, but this seems to go a bit deeper and more unique. Of course these are just words at this point, nothing has been proven just yet! But this would make it more fun to play against other people and see who masters the ultimate style, but I´m certain that there is a counter style f...
