Import the Xbox One?

For everyone that lives in a country where the Xbox One isn´t available yet this seems like a good idea, because it´s unfair that we all have to wait so long for a console that has been launched in other countries months ago! But is it a good idea? Because I can´t help but have this feeling that it might not be a good idea to import it as it could give you problems with games you buy that are made for the Xbox One that will launch in your country. Well maybe I´m just talking stupid here, I don´t know but I can´t help but have a bad feeling about this.


Why would Microsoft not launch the Xbox One in certain countries if it´s ok to just import one and play your games on that console? I mean they could´ve just launched the English version in most countries and then later you could get an update that gives you the option to put everything in your own language. It seems simple but somehow I got the feeling that it´s not, because why else do we have to wait this long for the Xbox One to launch here? I´ll be honest and say that I´m not an expert on this and I might be completely wrong, but I´m hesitating a lot when it comes to importing a console. It might not give you problems now but once the Xbox One launches in all countries then it might give you problems, once again this is what I think and isn´t based on any facts.


When will the Xbox One launch for all countries? To be honest I have no idea, because so far it´s pretty quiet when it comes to that. It´s very annoying that you have to keep playing on your Xbox 360 when there are so many people who already play on the Xbox One, especially when you look at the amount of games that are released on the Xbox One and that will also be available on the Xbox One. Because do you really want to buy a game for the Xbox 360 when you can easily wait a bit longer and buy it for the Xbox One? Well waiting with games might not be an option for everyone, especially when I look at a game like Titanfall. Why wait for the Xbox One if you can buy it for the Xbox 360? The problem is that once you do buy a Xbox One you´ll have to buy the Xbox One version because you can´t play the Xbox 360 version on your Xbox One. What a load of bullocks, but unfortunately that´s how it works.


I guess Sony is a lot smarter when it comes to this, because you can play Playstation 3 games on the Playstation 4 and the Playstation 4 has launched everywhere months ago. I can´t help but think that Microsoft has failed here, I just hope it won´t damage them too much because I would hate to see the Xbox One crash and burn because of such stupidity! Anyway I would wait for the launch of the Xbox One in your country just to be safe, but that´s what I´m going to do so feel free to import one if you want to.

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with. Mortal Kombat X isn´t just another fighting game?

You´ve probably seen the announce trailer of Mortal Kombat X, then you probably also know that it shows two familiar characters fighting against eachother. At that point you´re probably still thinking that it´s just more of the same but with a better coat of paint, I understand that pessimist look and it´s not often wrong. But from what I´ve heard about Mortal Kombat X is that it´s going to be more than just a new game in the Mortal Kombat game series. What´s new? Apparently there will be more fighting styles for one character, giving everyone his or her own favourite style to use against opponents. There was something familiar in another Mortal Kombat game where they also had weapons in a fighting style, but this seems to go a bit deeper and more unique.
