The thin red line between cheating and not cheating
When you play games with others then cheating is usually not the first thing on your mind, because as much as you want to win you probably want to win fair and square! Usually between friends there is enough trust, so nobody really suspects the other of cheating. Of course if someone keeps winning in an unbelievable way then that does raise some suspicion. But what about playing against strangers? Then you have no idea what they do or use, I guess we all just trust that we all play fair but unfortunately that´s not always true.
But what makes you a cheater? I think it´s obvious that when you use certain codes that make you kill faster, invulnerable or invisible that you´re cheating. There is no doubt or question when it comes to that. But what if you use something else that gives you an advantage? For example a scuf controller or kontrol freek sticks on your controller? A lot of people seem to be eager to get that hardware to get an advantage on other players, but isn´t that cheating? I personally hate people who use stuff like scuf controllers and kontrol freeks, in my opinion they´re cowards that have to use special hardware so they get an unfair advantage. Apparently they´re incapable of doing good without it, oh sure some might but the fact that you need this and use this stuff does say a lot about you.
An unfair advantage or fair game? Because some people use scuf controllers and/or kontrol freeks they´ll be faster with killing and response giving them an unfair advantage. Of course you´d say that others could also use that, but really we all have to use that because there is a group of cowards that can´t play games without it? Besides not everyone has enough money to buy expensive controllers (scuf controllers are often over a hundred Euros) and/or other hardware just to get that advantage. This desire to win at all costs brings forth cowards and cheaters! So maybe using a scuf controller and/or kontrol freeks doesn´t make you a cheater, but in my opinion it does make you a coward! Because if you´re as good as you say you are you don´t need that to win, do you?
I wish people could just all play games as they´re meant to be played, not using anything extra or different to give themselves an advantage. I´m just using my normal Xbox 360 controller and I seem to do ok. Oh sure I´ll lose games just like the other average guy but guess what, that´s what happens sometimes! I hate it when people have to use things to give themselves an unfair advantage, it makes it harder for people like me who play fair without any advantages. I´m actually quite annoyed that nobody seems to be bothered by this, not the developers of the games where people use it in or other players like me that don´t use that. No matter how many matches someone wins and no matter how successful someone gets, if they´re using hardware or software that gives them an advantage then they haven´t earned anything. The world might not see them as cheaters, but doesn´t mean that they´re playing fair! That´s why I want online matches that are free of people that use unfair advantages like scuf controllers and kontrol freeks, so people who don´t have that advantage can play with or against other people who also play games just like them.
