Star Wars copies Batman Arkham Asylum/City?

I think there is a saying that it´s sometimes better to steal something good than to come up with something bad yourself, well I probably say it wrong in English but this is what it comes down to in Dutch. Of course I´m not a fan of stealing, but when you look at games then it´s indeed sometimes better to steal (maybe a better word is borrow?) a good idea from another game, then use that for your own game to make it better.

When I look at Star Wars games I can´t say that it was all bad, I mean just look at Knights of the Old Republic which is one of my favourite games. But maybe the good thing about that game is that it has nothing to do with the movies, so the developers had a lot of freedom to create their own game. I seriously hope they´re going to do that as well with any new Star Wars games. Instead of just making some bad movie game, I´ve seen that happen so many times and nine out of ten times it´s not good! But originality isn´t always a key to succes, when I look at the Force Unleashed games then things are not as good as Knights of the Old Republic. I must admit that the first Force Unleashed game was pretty good, but the second one just felt like more of the first game without any real improvements.

So Star Wars games are going to be more like Batman Arkham games? That´s the latest news at least, I´m curious what they exactly mean with that though. Because if that just means the combat system then that´s not a bad thing, but if that means you have to sneak as a Jedi then I´m going to be a bit upset. I mean you´re a badass with the force and a lightsaber, do you really need to sneak? Well maybe sometimes you would need to, but I like to be the type of Jedi that enters a room and kicks ass without having to sneak around. It´s nice though if you could make your own type of Jedi, as it is with the Old Republic (the mmorpg) where you can create your own class and pick your own powers. So if you want to be a sneaky Jedi then so be it, but if you want to be a badass Jedi then that´s also an option.

Don´t get me wrong, I like the Batman Arkham games but I don´t really see how that fits in with any Star Wars games. Perhaps I´m just mistaken, maybe the developers can make an awesome Star Wars game and I just need to shut up and see. Well I´m curious, I´m definately interested already in what the future will bring for Star Wars games!
