Aimbot vs skill
Somehow I´m always supsecious when someone has a lot of skill with aiming, I´m not saying that someone can´t have skill but it´s weird when they never miss. I really do mean never miss, as in every shot was a direct hit. Of course a camper might have better luck with that but when you run around and you bump into someone then perfect aim isn´t really what comes into my mind. If you´re not trying to knife someone then you´ll probably end up shooting a bit like a madman. So it kind of sucks when someone kills you with just one or two bullets just like that. Is that skill or is someone being a cheater?
What is an aimbot? I guess it makes sense that I first explain this, for those who have no idea what I´m talking about. An aimbot is something that helps people with aiming quickly at others, it reduces the time it takes for a player to aim at another player. Of course you can mess with sensitivity in options but really with some people it´s obvious that they´re cheating. Because that´s how you call that, when you use something in the game that isn´t supposed to be there. Of course some people will defend mods but when it´s a mod that disrupts the flow of the game and puts an unfair advantage to some people then it´s still cheating. An aimbot is exactly that, an unfair advantage to some people. They get quick kills without doing any extra effort, if that´s not cheating then it´s probably ok to punch someone in the stomach when you play a splitscreen game.
So why do people use aimbot? Well the simple answer is that it helps them get more kills, more kills means better score and better score means more experience. Some also use it to dominate in a match, to show off their supposed skills. Of course sooner or later these losers will be found and banned from the game. But it doesn´t stop them to make a new account and do the exact same thing again. Once a cheater always a cheater, well maybe that´s a bit harsh but I´ve seen certain people do the same things over and over again. For players that play fair it´s very frustrating to deal with people that cheat, because it´s very annoying and you often don´t stand much of a chance to people that cheat. You´ll often find them in first person shooters, which makes perfect sense, but don´t be suprised that they also show up in third person shooters. I know that some games have a soft lock, which allows people to have some assistance with aiming, this is a service provided by the game and thus that´s not cheating. No matter how many people talk shit to you, if the game provides it then it´s allowed. If you put something in the game that´s not supposed to be there and it has a negative effect on other people then it´s cheating.
Aimbot, luck or skill? It´s not always easy to find out if someone uses aimbot, because some people are just very good. Of course nobody is perfect, so everyone makes mistakes. People with aimbot are a bit too good, so don´t feel bad to question someones skill. Just be careful with pointing fingers, I mean some people are just sour that they lost and sometimes accuse others of cheating when they lose. I had a very good match in Max Payne 3 once, I was in Branco Headquarters and got over 60 kills with not many deaths. So one guy thought I was cheating because of that outcome, it´s true that I´m not so good at gaming but sometimes people get lucky. To attack someone just because they had one good game is childish and just shows that you´re a bad loser. As much as it sucks to lose, don´t become a bigger loser by accusing people after one match. If this perfect aim goes on for several matches then you might be on to something, but it would still be smart to actually have proof.
