Kill the human player
Have you ever noticed that when you play a game and you´re the only human player in a match or mission that every enemy gun is directed at you? It´s extreme up to the point where enemy bots just completely ignore friendly bots and just go straight for you, which is crazy when friendly bots shoot the crap out of them! It´s especially frustrating when you do mission objectives, you´re trying to capture a flag or grab a bag of money and while you´re doing that every enemy will shoot at you and completely ignore the friendly bots. Some games are a bit more extreme with this than others, for example Black Ops 2 has some anti human bots. It´s nice that they put up some resistance but really ignore the other bots and go straight for the human player at all costs?!!!
When does this happen a lot? Usually when you play alone with bots, because if you play with other people then they´ll get their share of the attention as well. It really becomes obvious when you play alone with bots because you´ll notice that every bot is aiming at you and probably kill you because of that. In Pay Day 2 I noticed that even with the heavy armor I still get killed easily when every enemy shoots at me and completely ignores my bot team members. Even when they shoot like crazy into the enemy bots. I´ve waited in the back and not shoot or do any objective, hoping this would keep me off their radar. But enemies will still get drawn to you because apparently you have some kind of human smell that is irresistible for the enemy bots. I think the only cure for this is to play with other people, so they also get attacked and that can keep some heat away from you. So when you play for objective you can devide tasks and the person who gets the attention of the bots keeps them busy while the other(s) go for the objective.
Is it always like this? Suprisingly it´s not, because I´ve had moments in Black Ops 2 where bots are just looking around and not noticing you. Only when you´d get a ridiculous high kill streak they´d be interested in you. The same counts for Pay Day 2, where Í´ve had missions where the bots definately got the most attention giving me a good chance to go for the objective. So I think it´s something that happens random, maybe for some people it works out better or worse I can´t really say. But it´s strange that one moment you´re public enemy number one and the other moment nobody is really that interested in you. Don´t get me wrong, I like being able to move around without getting shot at every turn but it seems weird that it´s so extreme. It´s an everything or nothing situation most of the time, which really kills any realism you might be looking for. Which is a shame, but I guess you can´t have everything and perhaps this is a subtle way of telling you that it´s better to play with other people.
So it´s better to play with people? I think that really depends on you, if you can handle the heat and don´t like playing with people you don´t know then going solo with bots seems like a good idea. It´s also smart to first learn the game, so you don´t become a burden in a team. Level up and get better equipment, this way you can help you team better and they don´t have to babysit you. So going solo definately has some uses, but games like Pay Day 2 are made to play with others. As much as you might not like that, this is how the game is meant to be played and difficult missions can become a lot easier if you work together with other people. This might be difficult for people who don´t have many friends to play with, which means you´ll have to play with strangers. I know that not every player is going to be friendly or helpful, but there is always a chance you find some like minded people who just want to get that achievement/trophy and/or a big amount of xp and money! Besides if the bots go crazy on you then it´s always nice to hide behind another human play and let him or her catch the heat for some time!
