Things get nerfed in games way too fast?

Whenever you play a multiplayer game you realize quickly how some people like to use certain characters and/or weapons, usually because certain characters are pretty effective in certain situations and the same counts for weapons. People that constantly lose to these type of people will quickly scream that they're overpowered and need to be nerfed, but is that true? People are the problem? It's easy how some characters in a game, for example in Overwatch, or certain weapons in a game, for example in CoD or Destiny 2, are considered overpowered because people lose a lot against these characters and weapons. So that means they either use the same character and/or weapon or they will scream for a nerf. But did you know that there are more ways to counter certain characters and weapons? It doesn't always require a nerf, but I guess it's easy to scream for a nerf so you don't have to change your tactics. I know it sucks if the same person keeps killing you with the s...

YouTube adventures -79- Modesty sucks?

Some big names in the YouTube world will tell you to be modest and humble, no matter how many subscribers and/or views you get. But that's of course easier said than done. Besides some people say one thing and do another thing. Of course it's a good thing to be modest and humble but don't you sometimes just want to celebrate a milestone? For example you got a thousand subscribers, isn't that a reason to celebrate? Ok not so big compared to some of the big channels but honestly being grateful isn't a bad thing!  It sucks being modest? I started with my channel with low expectations, well I actually didn't even have any expectations. I just made videos for fun and that's what I still want to do. Wether one person watches the video or a hundred, I honestly don't care that much about that. If I can make people happy watching my videos then that's good, but if people say that they hate my videos then that's fine as well. I'm not here to ple...

The art of convincing people to join your clan

Whenever you walk around in a multiplayer game that has a clan, guild or other type of groups system you can bet your ass on it that you'll get random invites. Especially if you have a high level character and/or some really good gear. People want you to join their clan, but at the same time they often want to do as little to convince you. Which often results in blind invites where people don't actually send you a message but just stick to the clan invite. Which is in my opinion lazy and absolutely no reason to join a clan! Why do people send blind invites to others? Because it's faster and takes less effort than actually talking to people. I think most people have no real intention in getting to know you but they're just looking for people to join their clan. Maybe they just started and need several members to get acces to the clan benefits. Some people start talking to you once you join the clan, but only if you join and this isn't even a guarantee. I guess it...

Divinity: Original Sin 2, the hottest game at the moment?

These days it seems like nobody can shut up about this game and to be honest the game looks really good, so I can understand why so many people are excited about this game. But is this game really that good or is it just all a hype? Considering that the game sold pretty well in the first week I think it's safe to say that it might actually be a good game, especially when you look at reviews and even random comments about this game seem to be positive most of the time. So maybe Divinity: Original Sin 2 is actually a good game. Not your average RPG? The first thing I noticed is that Divinity: Original Sin 2 isn't your average RPG, it's a bit different and with a bit I actually mean a lot different in certain ways. For example the conversations with other characters are fully voiced, ok you don't hear your character speak unless you comment on something you see. But in the conversations it's just text on the screen. The weird thing is that a narrator comments on ho...

Destiny 2 PvP: the good, the bad and the ugly

I'll be honest with you, I'm not really into PvP but it's nice to sometimes unwind a bit in the crucible. It's the spot for some player against player action and you can test your skills and also new weapons against other guardians. This was something I enjoyed in Destiny, not always but definitely worth checking out every now and then. But now in Destiny 2 things are a bit different and I can't say I'm a big fan of that. Clan vs solo queue players? Be honest, how many times when you joined solo queue did the game put you up against a clan of three or four? This wouldn't be so bad if you would be there with your clan or at least have a team of people that communicate and work together. Unfortunately none of that seems to be present as of this day in the crucible. This makes solo queue in PvP an absolute nightmare for some people and just not fun to play. It's not that you can't beat a clan of four, but if your team doesn't communicate nor wan...

Movie Monday: Mr & Mrs Smith

There are movie that might not look good at first, when you hear about it, but once you see the movie then you know that it's a fantastic movie. What really made Mr & Mrs Smith so good was the acting of the two main stars in the movie, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. They had so much fun making this movie that it's an absolute joy to watch the movie. Which is good news for people that are looking for a fun movie to watch! Married to a spy? The story of Mr & Mrs Smith is pretty simple, a man is a spy and marries to a woman not knowing that she's a spy too. Apparently both of them are unaware of eachothers activities until their paths cross in their spy life, which leads to a lot of fighting and explosions. It's really not the action that makes this movie so much fun to watch but it's the humour. Mr & Mrs Smith is the type of movie that shows that a movie can be ten times better when the actors are actually enjoying themselves making this movie, instead ...

Sinful Sunday: Pay to play with someone?

I know that it's not always easy to make friends online, even offline it can be hard when you go to a new school or a new job, but it really surprised me when I heard that people actually pay other people to play games with them. Apparently there is a market where people pay other people to play games with them. I say people but from what I've seen and heard it's mostly women that offer to play games with you if you pay them. You should do with your money what you want but honestly paying someone to play a game with you? That just seems wrong to me! You pay someone to play a game with you? It's true, no matter how crazy it sounds. But is it truly that crazy? I mean there are a lot of people out there that don't have any friends to play games with and if you have a hard time making friends then this can be a solution. An expensive solution though if you have to pay for every time you want to play with someone else. It seems like a nice thing to do, offer to play ...

Are some games actually rewarding you for the time you play in them?

It's nice when a game is fun to play but it's even better when you can get some nice rewards for the time you spend in the game. For example when I look at Fortnite I see a game that gives you very little for the amount of time you put in it. Because if you play the 14 days survival you only get a little, which is ridiculous because that will take you more than four and a half hours to complete! Destiny 2 on the other hand has a high drop rate of legendary and even exotics, which means spending two hours or sometimes even one hour in the game can already get you some good loot. Both games are fun to play but it of course is lame when you get so very little for the time you put in a game. Which makes me wonder, are some games worth the time you put in them? Some games don't reward you enough for the time you play in them? A game should be fun to play at first, I totally agree with that, but it's nice that you also get something extra in return for all the hours you h...

YouTube adventures -78- Is there a future on YouTube?

With things getting harder for existing channels you have to wonder if there is going to be a future for them on YouTube and what about the new channels? How do you survive if YouTube pretty much want you to be super nice and polite, without dropping any bad words in the video and heaven forbid if someone could see a nipple! This really raises a big question... Is there a future on YouTube for me? I never planned to get big with my channel, I was already surprised to get some views. Keep in mind that I make low quality videos, so I don't expect people to get super excited for that. But it was nice that I could make all kinds of videos and never really had to censor myself. If I was mad you could hear it, I didn't had to worry about what I was saying and just blurted out the dumbest things. YouTube doesn't like that and so now all the videos are under a watchful eye and the moment your video is considered as not good for YouTube you will be taken down! Ok that sounds a...

Gamer guys and gamer gals, there is no difference?

I think it's safe to say that we're all gamers, no matter if you're male or female. Ok some people might hate playing games but I think we all had a time in our life that we enjoyed playing games. If not then that person is truly an exception! But if we're all gamers then why do we have gamer guys and gamer gals? Well some people like to put things into groups, I guess that makes sense but it annoys the crap out of other people. Does it truly matter if someone is male or female? Nope! But there are some differences though... Gamer guys have it easier? A lot of times I hear stories from women that play games and that have to deal with a lot of crap from other players. Apparently guys don't have this that much. At least I can't remember people specifically picking on me for being a guy. I've heard stories from female gamers that get a lot of crap from guys when they find out that the person that is kicking their butt in a game is a girl. This of course suc...

The end of Summer

This is my favourite time of the year, we're done with Summer and now in Autumn we get a lot of new games! So this also means it's the end of my Summer game tip posts. Hopefully you found some fun games to help you through Summer and maybe some of them will even be fun to play next year. I know for certain that some games are always fun to play, so it's not a bad thing to hold on to certain games even if you don't feel like playing them right now. This is the best time of the year? Well I think it is. Mostly because I like this time of the year so much, I like the rain and all the colours on the trees. But as a gamer I also love this time of the year because there are a lot of cool releases in Autumn. Just think of all the big titles that launch between September and December. So as a gamer you have a lot to look forward to and a lot of games you can play. It's just the trick to find the ones actually worth buying since most of us can't buy them all. When...

Battery consuming games

I like playing Destiny 2, but what I hate about that game is how fast it consumes batteries in your controller. I mean seriously, I go through three pairs of batteries in one week and I don't even play that much on one day! I know that it's useful when your controller vibrates, then you know that you got hit or if something big is near, but it's ridiculous how some games seem to make you burn through batteries as if it's nothing. Destiny 2 is a battery killer? Destiny also has that problem but it seems the sequel is going even crazier with this, because pretty much everywhere your controller vibrates and you end up swapping batteries the next day. What's worse is how there are parts in the game where your controller vibrates like crazy and doesn't seem to stop vibrating, it stops like 30 seconds later but if that happens several times in the game in one evening then you're draining the batteries a lot! There are missions that I really don't like to r...

Movie Monday: Serenity

Did you watch the show Firefly? It's a fun science fiction show that was already cancelled in the first season. Which of course sucks, but thankfully several years later there was a movie that pretty much gave the fans more of Firefly. Even if you've never seen the show Firefly then the movie is still pretty good, but it does help if you watch the show first. It makes a bit more sense that way. The movie we deserved? I don't know if we deserved the movie but I'm glad that the movie is there, because I watched the show Firefly and I was so disappointed when the show was cancelled. So this movie gave me at least something extra. It actually shows you where the creator, Josh Whedon, was going with the show but went a bit fast forward with the story in the movie. But it never bothers me and actually gives you a fun and interesting story with some really cool moments. All the actors from the show are there so it really feels good to watch the movie after seeing the show....

Sinful Sunday: You're such a try hard!

Has anyone ever called you a try hard? It's usually when you're winning and another player is frustrated. It's easy to call someone a try hard but is it really such a bad thing to try and win a match? I mean that's the idea isn't it? Of course it's important to have fun but I think we all want the benefits of winning, which is often more rewards or experience. So maybe being a try hard isn't a bad thing? Or is it? There's nothing wrong with being a try hard? I guess it depends on what you call a try hard, because if someone just tries to win by doing his or her best then it's easy to call this person a try hard but he or she is just trying to win. Isn't that what you're doing when you play a multiplayer match? Competitive multiplayer is usually where the most toxic and sad people hang around so don't be surprised if someone calls you a filthy try hard. Oh man you're trying to win the match, that's just so lame! But in my opini...

Bot almighty!

Have you ever played a game and noticed how some bots are just ridiculous? I think we all know the bots that never seem to miss a shot, bots that always seem to instantly spawn behind you or bots that always seem to know where you are. Against such brutality a lot of players meet their end, in the game of course, and it causes a lot of frustration. But are bots truly overpowered or are some people just bad at certain games? Good bot is useless, evil bot isn't? Something that really annoys me is that whenever you have a bot on your side they're nine out of ten times absolutely useless. They can't get a kill, they can't keep up with your speed and often get themselves killed. But enemy bots aren't that stupid, they're more effective killers than some players out there and will fuck your day if you're not careful! A game where bots are really bad on your side is Pay Day 2, your AI controlled team mates are one of the dumbest bots out there and often complet...

YouTube adventures -77- The hidden strength behind the YouTuber

A lot of people just get to know a YouTuber, if that YouTuber actually allows that, and most of these people don't realise that there is often a person or persons behind that YouTuber that give him or her the strength to go on. This might sound a bit dramatic but honestly there are moments where you just don't feel like recording or when you don't know if you should continue with your channel. But it's the people that give you strength that help you push forward. I like to call them... The hidden strength behind the YouTuber. I think most people have at least one person in their life that is important to them. Someone that makes them happy or give them strength when they need it. This could be someone from your family but also a good friend. It's thanks to people like them that you get through difficult moments in your life and find the strength to go on. When you're completely on your own then things get harder, it's a lot more difficult to get through ...

The PUBG type of games, why are they popular?

I personally don't see what's so much fun about these type of games, it has never interested me and I doubt it ever will. But there are a lot of players out there that seem to love these type of games, Player Unknown Battlegrounds (or PUBG) is a good example of this because a lot of people play this game and there seems to always be someone streaming this game. But why? What is so much fun about these type of games? Be your own man or woman? In each game there is some sort of thread that you follow, sure there are open world games but there is still a story and something you need to do towards the end. In games like PUBG you can do whatever you want because there is no story and no motivation other than survival to this game. What also makes this game so popular is that you can play it with friends, so you go in the game with a group of friends and match your skills against other players who are also in teams. Then it's a game of survival, tactics and skill. You only ha...

Summer game tip: Destiny 2

It might seem weird that I suggest playing Destiny 2 after my rant about Bungie yesterday but that was a rant against Bungie, I actually enjoy playing Destiny 2 and it's a fun game. Maybe not exactly as I hoped it would be but it's still fun to play! A great game to play to get through boring moments and just have a great adventure or building up your character in the game. Destiny 2 is your adventure? Yes it is your adventure and you decide what you do. Do you want to patrol in an area? Do you want to hunt for treasure chests? Do you want to track public events and take part in them? Do you want to team up with others and do a strike? Do you want to play against other players in PvP? Do you just want to explore the maps and discover new things? It's all possible in Destiny 2, which makes the game so much fun. It's also fun that now the legendary and exotic drops are less rare, you have a better chance to get some good loot and eventhough some quests might be hard o...

Bungie, Bungie never changes...

Let me first say that I'm not bashing on Destiny 2, it's a fun game and I enjoy playing this game. But unfortunately there are parts that are not so much fun and then there are parts that are just the same stupid bullshit a lot of people already hated in the first Destiny game. So why Bungie, why do you put the same shit in Destiny 2?!!! What am I talking about? Well... Bungie hates solo players? It seems that way, just look at Destiny (the first game) and the amount of people that didn't play any of the raids because nobody could find a team to join. I think it was about 50% of the player community that didn't play any of the raids which is a lot! If you wanted to play the raid you had to team up with other people, but Bungie didn't offer any matchmaking with this and you had to do that on your own. Which caused a lot of trouble and a lot of people in comment sections of videos or on websites to ask for help. Something that could've easily been avoided if B...

Movie Monday: John Carter

I know that a lot of people don't like this movie, I've even heard people say that they hate the movie. But is the movie really that bad? Well that's a matter of opinion. I actually like the movie, ok I know the movie isn't amazing but it's still fun to watch. Certain parts are a bit weird but the movie is never really that bad as some people claim it to be. I never fell asleep while watching this movie and there is enough going on in the movie to keep you interested. So in my opinion John Carter isn't a bad movie, but that's my opinion and not a fact. Wake up on Mars? Imagine this, you got into trouble on Earth and then touch this weird device and suddenly wake up on Mars. That absolutely makes no sense but that's exactly what happens to John Carter in the movie with the same name. Things only get weirder from that point but that's ok, weird doesn't have to mean bad but I can see how some people don't like that in a movie. John meets oth...

Sinful Sunday: Exploiting a game

I like playing new games, everything is fresh and you can explore the game as much as you want. But it never takes long for some people to find ways to exploit a game, to make it easier to get through something in the game or just get better loot without too much trouble. This might seem harmless but in fact they're ruining the game and thus the experience for everyone with this type of behaviour. Why is this the type of behaviour you see in every game? Well...let's find out! Why are people always trying to exploit a game? Because some people want to get the most out of a game without doing a lot for it. Why do your best and actually play legit when there is a cheap and cheatsy way to do it as well? It's pretty much in the nature of all of us, to take the easy road and skip the hardships of the road you're supposed to take. But the big difference is that not all of us go for the easy road, it's only those who seem to be ok with exploiting a game and in a way che...

Gamers are getting lazy?

We all live in the same world, things have to happen fast and people freak the fuck out when things take a bit longer. So when you play a game peope want things to go fast, you need to level up fast and get the best loot fast. When this takes too long people get angry and they'll put their frustration on a forum or in the comment section of a video related to the game they're frustrated about. But what is really going on? Are they really annoyed that they don't get what they want fast enough or are they just lazy? Because honestly getting good gear shouldn't be a two hour job! Gamers are getting lazy? Sometimes it seems that way, especially when some people already complain about things when something just released. For example people want the rewards in the 14 days survival in Fortnite but don't actually want to go through the four and a half hour grind. I know that it sucks and I absolutely understand that not everyone has time for that. But you can't expe...

YouTube adventures -76- Why do you record with a camera?

This week I got a question I expected someone to ask years ago, but apparently nobody really cared or perhaps I missed the question. It's a simple question and I have a simple answer for it, but I think it's better to give a more detailed explanation here. So what is the question? Why do you record with a camera? If you have ever seen one of my videos on YouTube then you'll notice that I record with a camera, a low quality camera that doesn't give the best quality for YouTube videos. What's worse is that the camera isn't working that well anymore, which means I can only record for a short time and that means there are a lot of things I can't record anymore. For example multiplayer matches or playing with friends, which sucks but sometimes you just have to work with what you have. So the reason why I record with a camera instead of a capture device is pretty simple, it's because my capture device doesn't work with my laptop. As in I can't re...

Destiny 2 (first impression)

To be totally honest I wasn't even certain if I wanted to buy Destiny 2, not that I thought it would be a bad game but more because of my experience with Destiny. I was worried that it would be another game where you grind and come to the conclusion that you can only get the best gear if you team up with other people. Eventhough that is still true in Destiny 2 you have now better ways of teaming up with others and pretty much let the game do that for you instead of you trying to find like minded people who want to team up with you for a strike or raid. So is Destiny 2 and improvement? Well from what I've seen so far it is. Destiny 2 is better than Destiny? Let me immediately say that I haven't finished the story so I can't really say that it's better, but so far I'm enjoying the story and the worlds I have visited look really good! Things I really like about Destiny 2 is how certain things work, for example you have a map now so you can track missions and ot...
