Fortnite: Survive the storm dlc

For all you fort builders there is good news! The survive the storm dlc is now live for all Fortnite players and it gives you acces to a new survival mode, mutated storms (which gives you more resources for evolving characters and items) and a lot of new characters and items. So for all the fans and even people who are new to the game there is a lot to do! Survival mode? These new storm missions are survival missions where you have to survive for 3, 7 or 14 days. Don't worry if you start with only 3 days, after you completed 3 days you can vote for 7 and after that 14 days or vote to leave now. The idea of survival mode is protecting generators, during the day you build defenses, traps and gather resources while at night you have to defend these generators against monster attacks. At first it's not that difficult but the further you get into the survival, as in more in game days in the match, the harder it becomes to protect all the generators. After each night you either h...

Summer game tip: The Sims (1,2,3 and 4)

I know that the Sims games aren't for everyone but in fact they're a lot of fun if you give them a chance. The options see endless and once you make some silly sims it's just the beginning of the fun! With all the add-ons you might lose interest but some of those really make the game so much more fun. Just think of university in the Sims 2 and 3, pets in the Sims 1, 2 and 3 or supernatural in the Sims 3. It gives the game even more things to do and helps you bring out the best in the game. The Sims games can offer you so much and you can easily make it through the Summer with just one of these games. What's so much fun in the Sims games? What I like a lot are the different type of sims you can create and the possibilities with creating houses and even whole towns. I can easily spend a whole day just making that perfect house, after I made that house I can spend weeks if not months playing with that one family in that house. It can be so much fun and so addicting tha...

Logic in games that makes no sense at all!

Have you ever played a game and wondered what the hell just happened? Perhaps you've been playing games for so long that these things don't bother you anymore but sometimes I see things and it just annoys me. Maybe I'm just a whiny bitch but honestly certain things should make sense, even in a game! Food heals you? This is one of those silly moments we all seem to accept, but in truth it makes no sense at all. I have to admit that this doesn't really bother me, but it's still weird how this logic works. If I cut my hand then it doesn't heal if I eat a carrot. But in games food often heals you, either immediately or heals you over time. It's silly but it's a game logic that has been there from almost the very beginning and I don't think people sometimes realize how silly this is. A good alternative would be medicine or bandages which should offer some relief. There are games that work with this, for example when you're bleeding you need to tre...

Movie Monday: Hidalgo

Have you ever seen a movie you weren't certain about if it would be fun to watch and that turned out to be amazing? For me that movie is Hidalgo, my sister almost dragged me to this movie because she loves horses so we had to see this movie. Eventhough the movie started a bit slow and it's a pretty long movie, I have to admit that the movie is amazing! You don't have to like horses to like this movie? If you don't care about horses then there is still a lot you can enjoy about this movie, because there are some awesome moments where you forget that you're watching a race through the desert with horses. I mean just look at the sandstorm moment, that is really cool! I don't think it really matters if you like horses or not, this movie is pretty good and you liking horses or not has little to do with the quality of the movie. But perhaps the movie is even more intense for horse lovers. For example that moment when one of the horses is badly wounded and the owne...

Sinful Sunday: Throwers (aka griefers)

I think that most of us play games for fun, but the moment we stop having fun we seem to handle it differently. When a game becomes frustrating for me I switch to another game or take a break, but then there are also people that see it as their duty to make every miserable. These people are griefers, they're not having fun so now no one can have fun and they'll do their best to make everyone as miserable as everyone else. In some games, if that's possible, they'll try to throw the match as in making certain that you lose. This isn't just annoying, it's ruining the game for other people and it says a lot about someone when they do something like that! Why are some people trying to lose a game? There could be multiple reasons. Maybe his or her friends are on the other team and this person considers it as his or her mission to make certain that his or her friends win. Then there are people who got into an argument with someone on his or her team and decided tha...

People complain about free games?

Yesterday I was watching a video on YouTube where I saw what the free games are going to be on Xboxlive for people with a gold membership. After watching the video I checked the comments, sometimes it can be interesting to read those, and to my surprise a lot of people aren't just ungrateful but also upset with the free games of September. So people are upset with a game that they can play for free, a game they don't have to play or do anything with but is there for people who want to play it. It doesn't cost you anything extra, it's an extra bonus if you have a gold membership (which does cost you money), but there are still people complaining. That is just something that blows my mind, people that just never seem to be happy and somehow always find something to whine about. Why would you be upset with free games? My guess is that these people wished for other games to be free, I guess it sucks when the free games aren't games you're interested in but that ...

YouTube adventures -74- Where does it end?

When you start with your channel you're probably full of ideas and thoughts of where you want to go with your channel, but everything that has a beginning also has an ending. Nothing lasts forever, but does that mean you have to already think about ending your channel? Will you one day stop with your YouTube channel or will it just go on and on? This raises a question... Where does it end? I never thought about stopping, but there have been moments where I took a break from YouTube. Often because of personal reasons. I have a lot of ideas but unfortunately my camera is really tough to work with, low quality and short recording times make it hard to get content but I try my best to work with what I have. But it hasn't made me think to stop. It just means I have to try harder, to make the most with what I have and hopefully one day upgrade to something better. But that doesn't take away the fact that there will be a day that I stop, I can't go on forever. As much as...

Issues with a game since launch day

I like playing games, but no matter how much fun a game can be if it doesn't work properly or has some frustrating bugs/glitches then it's not fun to play these kind of games. Lately I've noticed how a lot of games have issues from the first day that they launched. It's as if people don't test games anymore, at least not proper. Because how else can games be released that are just not working as they should and can get you stuck because they're just broken. Why release a game that isn't ready? A good question, but the answer is unfortunately not that good. There isn't just one reason, there could be multiple reasons. Some developers are on a schedule, they need to release a game at a certain point and wether the game is ready or not they'll do it anyway. Others probably just want to cash in with their game as fast as they can because why wait and test a game when you can release it and see what's wrong it with it later? I'd say that's...

Summer game tip: Trials Fusion

Do you like racing games? Well I'm not a big fan of them but Trials Fusion is a bit different, not only is this a different type of game in the racing genre but it also offers you a lot of fun! You can create your own rider and even your own tracks, so if you feel creative then you can go crazy with these options! But if you just want to race alone, with friends or competitive against other people online then this game got you covered as well. Trials Fusion is a great game to play in between other games and what's the best about this game right now is that it's free for Xbox One gamers with a gold membership! Man, machine, the future? Ah yes that song that keeps playing in the main menu, but in a way this game is a bit like that song. But I don't think it's really about racing for me, I prefer to do some crazy stunts and have fun with friends. The maps where you race are really good, with special effect happening while you race from point A to point B. The check...

Agents of Mayhem (first impression)

I wasn't able to play this game a lot last weekend but I did put in several hours to at least get an idea what kind of game I'm dealing with. I discovered some fun things, some exciting things but also some frustrating things. Things got so frustrating that I just turned off my console, which doesn't happen a lot. So is Agents of Mayhem a game you should buy? Well I'll give you my opinion and then you can decide what you do with that information. Limitless fun? Agents of Mayhem doesn't take itself too seriously, which is good because the serious approach would be a big mistake. A lot of the conversations and situations in the game are meant to be funny, I'm not saying it was all comedy gold but there are definitely funny moments in the game. I guess it also depends as which character you're playing, because each character has his or her own response to certain situations. When you're in the city, Seoul, you can do whatever you want. There is a lot of...

Movie Monday: Batman and Harley Quinn

As a kid I watched Batman the animated series a lot, so seeing this animated movie in the same style as the animated series is great news for someone like me. To make it even better some of the origianl voice actors of the animated series return. But I wonder how others look at it, because I think some people don't like the style in this animated movie and probably want the modern version. Is this animated movie worth checking out? Well let's find out! Not my Harley! The outrage I heard and read in the comments was big when people found out that there was a new voice actor for Harley Quinn, people went crazy and said that the new voice is terrible. Well...I disagree. Melissa Rauch, who does the voice for Harley in this animated movie, does a fantastic job and I can't complain about that! This is not the same Harley as you might expect, this Harley is free from the Joker, and his influence, and she is her own woman in this movie. But don't expect this to be a super r...

Sinful Sunday: Leeching in a game

Leeches are unpleasant creatures but have a function, in games there are also leeches but these type of leeches aren't useful at all! Lately I've seen some leeches in Fortnite and I also heard other people talk a lot about encountering these unpleasant people. But what is a leech exactly and how do you deal with them? Let's find out! What is a leech? A leech in a game is someone who does nothing but takes all the benefits of others playing the objective and/or game. Some might do something, shoot some enemies or walk around, giving others the impression that they're not leeching but in fact they are leeching. These people love joining high level matches so they get a lot of experience for doing very little to nothing at all. This is of course very frustrating for other players because they feel like they do all the work while the leech just sits there and gets all the rewards they earn. This isn't fair and it should stopped, unfortunately not every game gives yo...

Injustice 2 premier skin ideas (something I would like to see)

There is only room for that many character in Injustice 2 and as far as I know it all the dlc characters are already decided. But premier skins, meaning you get a different look and voice for a character that is already in the game, give the option to get certain characters in the game. Here are some of the characters I would like to see in Injustice 2 as a premier skin. Thomas Wayne/Batman. If you've seen the Flashpoint animated movie then you know what I mean, a Batman that doesn't take prisoners and actually kills his enemies. What's interesting is that he wields two guns in the animated movie, which means he could be a premier skin for Red Hood who also wields two guns. Not only is Thomas Wayne a really cool looking character he could be the Batman that really shows no mercy and gives you some more brutal finishers. Of course you can also make Thomas Wayne a premier skin for Batman, but then he wouldn't have his guns. Martha Wayne/The Joker. If you put Thoma...

YouTube adventures -73- People keep bothering me with spam

Do you have a YouTube channel? Do people keep bothering you with spam? If so then you probably know how annoying that can be. I guess it's the risk of having a YouTube channel, apparently it attracts people that like to bother you with spam. What's worse is that it's not something that happens once every week, in the last two weeks I've gotten twelve spam messages. That's almost one every day. Yeah, great fun... Spam attack! You know what's funny about the spam message? The person sending you the spam message says it's not a spam message in the spam message. Yeah that's like spamception or something like that. Another thing I noticed is how they use my online name in the message, as if it was personally typed for me. Eventhough it feels strongly like it's one in a million, especially the way it's typed. You know what's also weird? That every spam message is supposedly from a girl, at least that's who the person sending me the spam mes...

Fortnite legendary edition, not a bad deal?

About a week ago I talk about buying upgrades for your game, it gives it new life or make a fun game more fun. I also talked about the legendary edition of Fortnite and how it was too expensive. But after thinking about it some more I decided to buy it anyway. Now before you say that I'm an idiot let me explain why I did it. Supporting a game you like isn't dumb? Instead of seeing it as if you give a lot of money to the developers you could see it as supporting a game you love to play. I enjoy playing Fortnite a lot, I play it every day for at least several hours. So spending some extra money to support the game and getting some nice extra stuff in return isn't actually a terribly deal. Sure the legendary edition is expensive, I'm not going to deny that and I'm also not going to tell you that it's a fantastic deal. But you do get some good items and if you're willing to invest in the game and see yourself playing this game a lot then the legendary editio...

Summer game tip: Overwatch

Ok I hear you, how can Overwatch be a game you would recommend to get through Summer? Because it's a fun game? Maybe some people disagree, which is fine, but honestly Overwatch is a fun game and offers you a lot. Unfortunately the game does have some issues, but if you can live with that then Overwatch is a fun game that can make a long hot Summer feel like a mild irritation. You never get tired of Overwatch? Well...that's not true. I actually take breaks from the game itself but it's a good game to get back to every now and then, especailly with an event. Right now there's the Summer event and offers you new things you can unlock and some new game modes. Lucio ball is the 'new' game mode in this event and it's a lot of fun. It's pretty much Rocket League but then only with the Lucio hero who is a bit buffed and his ultimate is altered for this game mode. The matches are quick and intense, but sometimes you can also get your ass handed to you if you ...

Game addiction, a serious problem?

When you say that you're addicted to playing games a lot of people will laugh, they will often not take you seriously and perhaps there are people with a game addiction that don't take it seriously either. But it's not something to laugh about, people have gotten in serious trouble with a game addiction and it can ruin your life! I know that it probably sounds stupid but hopefully I can tell you something about it to at least gives you some information what happens when you're addicted to games and how you could get rid of the game addiction if you think you have one. It's bad being addicted to playing games? It is actually, but I can already hear some hardcore gamers say that they play games a lot and it doesn't hurt them. Well when I say that someone has a game addiction then you have to realize that this means they play games all day every day, as in no time for sleep or even eating. Parents are worried about their kid because he or she hardly ever goes o...

Movie Monday: I love you, man

This isn't a movie that came out recently but it's definitely a movie you would want to see if you like humour and bromance. This movie isn't the typical romantic movie where a guy and a girl get together at the end. In this movie a guy is looking for a good friend that could become his best man at his wedding. Unfortunately that's not as easy as it might be and it leads to some strange situations. But absolutely worth checking out! An unusual problem? When you think of a wedding then the first problem might be when to have your wedding, who you would invite and what kind of wedding do you want to have. But for Peter Klaven things are a bit more complicated, he has no male friends so no best man for his wedding. This leads to some strange situations until he meets Sydney, a pretty laid back guy that likes to party. But how do you ask someone to be your friend? That seems simple but apparently, if we have to believe this movie, it's not that easy and it can be qu...

Sinful Sunday: Every game has toxic players?

It's nice in a way to see people being hopeful in a new game, they're all happy and excited until that one moment arrives when they encounter another player that ruins his or her experience. It seems you can't escape that in online multiplayer games, there are always toxic players and the only way to make certain you don't encounter them is to play offline unless you're a toxic player yourself. There are toxic players in every game? As much as I hate to admit it but yeah I think there are toxic players in every online multiplayer game. Because for every person that is enjoying himself or herself there is most likely also someone who isn't enjoying himself or herself. I guess that keeps things in balance, but it can be really frustrating to deal with these people. In Fortnite I was actually quite optimistic, in my multiplayer experiences I had not encountered a lot of annoying people and I thought that maybe this one time there could be a game where these tox...

Old games are better than new games?

I often hear some people talk about how games from their youth, I'm talking about late 80's and early 90's, are much better than most games that are out now. But is that true? I know that I have fond memories of some of those games but I wouldn't really say that those games are better. I guess it's a bit of nostalgic value and thinking that it's better while in truth they're not really better. Old games are better than new games? That's really just an opinion and often an opinion based upon someone have fond memories of these old games. I know that I enjoyed Super Mario Bros 3, the battle mode between Mario and Luigi was super simple but so much fun if you played that with a friend. I remember this one time where I played the game with a friend all night long. I have fond memories of that game but I wouldn't call it one of the best games I've ever played. The same counts for Duck Hunt, a funny game at the time but when you look at it now I ca...

YouTube adventures -72- Should you continue with your channel when it has no succes?

I think when people start with a YouTube channel they're full of energy and want to make the most of it. At this point you probably have expectations but you mostly, at least I hope so, make videos because you enjoy making videos. It's nice when you have succes with that, but what if things don't go so well? Should you continue with your channel when it has no succes? I never had high expectations with my channel, I wasn't trying to become this super succesful YouTuber. For me YouTube is just a place where I sometimes upload some videos. Sometimes helpful videos, at other times I make some fun/frustration videos and then there are times that I make videos where I talk about random things. There is no real theme on my channel, no real idea behind it. It's just me uploading videos for fun, the moment it's no longer fun I'll stop. Which is in my opinion a good idea. It can be difficult to deal with disappointments, things aren't going exactly as you w...

Should you buy the standard or special edition of a game?

It was pretty simple in the early days of gaming, there was only one version of the game and that was it. No fancy special editions or other stuff that would confuse the minds of people who really wanted to buy the game but didn't know if the special edition would be worth the extra money. These days it seems that a lot of games have special editions, Fortnite already has about four different versions and in my opinion I don't think it's always worth the extra money. But sometimes it can be, especially if you're really interested in the game. Should you buy the special edition of a game? That's really up to you, but in my opinion it's often not worth it. The best you often get is an extra skin for your character(s), a bonus weapon or something else that you don't really need. Also keep in mind that if you pre-order a game you often get already something special, so why would you go for the special edition and spend even more money on exactly the same gam...

Summer game tip: Skyrim

I love Skyrim, it's such a fantastic game that offers you so much! No matter what kind of character class you prefer, I think most of them are available in Skyrim. You can build your character from the ground up, from simple face details up to which skills and abilities you want to learn and improve. There is so much to do in this game that you could easily fill the entire vacation with this game alone, eventhough the game is from 2011 it never feels old and with the remastered edition the game looks pretty good! You're the one? If with the one you mean the dragonborn then yes you are the one. After your second encounter with a dragon you discover that you're the dragonborn and this sets you on a whole new adventure of trying to stop an evil dragon from destroying the world. But the game offers you so much more than the main quest, the amount of side quests and other things you can do in the game is in the hundreds if not thousands. You can easily play for days, maybe e...

Fortnite, is the game worth it with all the issues?

Fortnite is a fantastic game, it's a lot of fun and I'd say it's pretty addictive because once you start it's difficult to stop. But there are a lot of technical issues. This makes it rough to enjoy the game at times and I'm not going to lie to you, it has made me quite frustrated at certain points. So it might make you wonder, is it worth getting this game with all the issues it has now? The game has a lot of issues? I've seen a lot of people get disconnected during a mission, which is quite frustrating and it has also happened to me several times. This happens a lot at the end of the mission, which gives you this horrible feeling that you just lost all your progress and rewards that you worked for. But the game isn't that cruel, if you get disconnected you can rejoin the mission you played in and you won't lose progress on the objective(s). If you don't rejoin the mission you will lose the progress on the objective(s). If this happens at the en...

Movie Monday: Sin City

Another jump into the past, but this movie is worth checking out! Sin City is one of my favourite movies and absolutely a lot of fun to watch. What I really like about the movie is that the style is very interesting. Everything is pretty much in a grim style, dark and grey, but several colours stand out. For example the yellow bastard, Dwight's red shoes and car. This movie is quite different from most movies I had seen so far, but it's definitely one of the best movies in my opinion! One movie, three different stories? In the movie you follow three different stories and the time lines of these stories mix, which might be a bit confusing to some people but it actually does make sense. All three stories are pretty good but my favourite has to be the story with Dwight McCarthy, that one is absolutely fantastic. The story is called the big fat kill and it starts slowly with Dwight. But later a cop is murdered in old town, ruled by the prostitutes, which could cause an all out ...

Sinful Sunday: Deliberately not playing the objective in a game

I know that protecting the objective in a game isn't always the most exciting part about playing a game and it can be easy to ignore it, but this is the part of the game that truly matters because ignore the objective and you will most likely lose! Unfortunately that doesn't stop a lot of players from ignoring the objective and making it that much harder for you and your team to win. Why do people ignore the objective? You would think that they don't care if they win or lose but then when you lose some of these people start accusing others of being bad at the game while this person was never anywhere near the objective. Yeah that makes total sense to blame others when you're being useless yourself in the match. I think the main reason why a lot of people ignore the objective is because they expect others to do it, a lot of people prefer to play a dps character and just rack up a lot of kills. Which is fine but there are times when you need to defend and work togethe...

Xbox One prepaid card disaster, one bad experience ruins everything?

Ok it's time for a little story, unfortunately based on true events. So yesterday I bought a new 12 months gold subscription for my Xbox One, no problem there so far. I enter the code and it is accepted, at least I get the message that the code stands for 12 months gold and it I get the option to accept. I accept and then after 30 seconds of waiting I get the message that the code was already used. WTF?!!! How can Xboxlive first accept the code and then say it's been used when you have to confirm? That's really weird and I honestly don't know what's going on. I tried multiple times entering the code, I thought maybe something went wrong, but now the code isn't accepted anymore. My profile says I still have a silver account and it also says in my account data that my gold membership ended on the 4th of August. I contacted the online store where I bought the prepaid card and they checked the code and they also contacted Microsoft, but of course that takes fore...
