YouTube adventures -66- Don't make your problems the problems of others?

Not every video has to be about games or some exciting adventure, some people like to talk about random things and that's fine. Often these personal videos are called vlogs when people point the camera at themselves and talk about things that are going on in their life. But should you tell everything and do people really care? Let's find out! Don't make your problems the problems of others? We all have bad moments and it feels good when you can talk about that, but I do think that it's probably better not to be this person online that constantly talks about these things. A lot of people will consider you as an attention whore, wether you are or not some people can be pretty harsh with their judgement, and that's probably not the type of response you were looking for when you made the video. If you're really in a depressed state of mind these type of negative comments only make you feel worse so you might want to be careful with what you want to share and wha...

GTA V Online Gunrunning dlc is worth checking out?

Rockstar gives the players of GTA V Online new dlc for free and it makes a lot of people happy, but the problem with this dlc is that it contains a lot of stuff that is very expensive and makes it only something for a few people that are willing to spend real money on it or people that have nothing better to do with their time and grind the fuck out of the game for money. So the question is, is the gunrunning dlc worth checking out or not? Is it worth it to check out the gunrunning dlc? The clothing is a bit disappointing in this dlc, nothing really that makes me happy or a look that I would go for. But the vehicles are pretty cool, once again you have a lot of brutal and quick ways to eliminate your opponents but unfortunately the prices are once again also super expensive. Just buying the bunker, how you get started with the gunrunning dlc, is already expensive and then you need to pay money for buying supplies, the same as with the biker business, or you can try to steal some bu...

Summer game tip: Watchdogs

Lately I've been playing Watchdogs a lot, which might surprise you because the game wasn't that popular. But you should keep in mind that it's not a bad game, sure there are some frustrating missions but they're not impossible and you could always ignore the missions and just enjoy the random things you can do in the game. Not a bad way to spend a week or two in the Summer! You're the bad guy? You play as Aiden Pearce, a vigilante that takes justice into his own hands. Of course the criminals aren't happy with that but the cops aren't happy about that either. They will try to kill you if they get a chance, which is weird because I would think they would try to stop me but not kill me. I guess the logic of the game is just to put more targets for you to shoot in the game. What is interesting is that you have a phone that allows you to hack a lot of things. This can help you shake off pursuers, capture bad guys, find collectibles or just spy on random peop...

State of Decay 2, new adventure or more of the same?

I really enjoy playing State of Decay, I perfected the game on my Xbox 360 and later also on my Xbox One. The fun thing about State of Decay is that every day can give you something different. Meet different survivors, find different things and it could also mean the last day for the character you're playing as. So you can imagine that I've been looking forward to learn more about State of Decay 2 and so far I must admit that I'm definitely interested! Same deal or not? From the trailer I noticed that several things are the same. You still pick a character and that character can die, if that happens you switch to another character in your community with whom you're friends. Some of the special type of zombies also make their return, for example I saw the exploding and juggernaut zombies in the trailer. Of course you also have to build a base, a place where you can upgrade skills and items or just keep everyone alive and happy. This is something I really like about S...

Movie Monday: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead men tell no tales

Are you a fan of these pirate movies? Well then you're in luck because part five has a lot of the things you might have liked from the previous movies, but at the same time it also has a lot of issues the other movies had as well. To me the best Pirates movie is the first one, Curse of the Black Pearl, but that doesn't make this movie terrible. Just not as good as it could've and should've been. What's going on in part five? You know the usual, a curse and only one man to stop it...yes Captain Jack Sparrow! But once more it's not just Jack but he gets some helpers along the way. Henry, the son of Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann, Turner and Carina Smyth. Once again the places of Will and Elizabeth seem to have been taken over by a new couple and you can pretty much predict how that ends. At the same time Jack gets himself into more and more trouble, the villains are dumb and always there to just see Jack escape, there are a lot of familiar faces in this movie...

Sinful Sunday: Gamer snobs are real?

I hate snobs, people that think that they're better than you because of some random bullshit. My daddy makes more money then your daddy. Right, who gives a fuck anyway. But now it seems this snob bullshit is becoming a plague in games as well. What the hell happened? Did I blink and suddenly every fucking turd in existence suddenly decided to play games? Great... Gamer snobs are real? It surprised me but yes they're real. I know that there were always these douchebags that would make comments about you not being able to afford certain things or the peasant remark from some PC troll but it was usually just some douchebag being douchebag. But now it seems we're going full try hard snob here with people feeling like they're amazing and they refuse to play with people on a lower rank. Seriously? Just because you have a higher rank you think you're too good to play with someone with a lower rank? As if that rank really matters, as if having a diamond rank makes you a...

Call of Duty: WW2, this is what we wanted right?

The fans demanded it and here it is, the back to basic type of CoD game. No more futuristic gear, no double jumps or special abilities and no robots or other crazy stuff. The fans can be happy, right? Right?!!! Well...the CoD 'fans' aren't an easy crowd to please, especially when a bit chunk of these 'fans' are kids that don't know what they really want. But I think it's safe to say that the majority of the CoD fans are happy with CoD: WW2. But what does this actually mean? Well let's find out! War never changes? In the Fallout games it doesn't but in CoD things change a lot. We went from basic first person shooter to futuristic shooter and now back to classic first person shooter. That means no more double jumps or other crap like that, which means you can expect once more a lot of people showing up with their camping and drop shot bullshit. Oh well it's not like this didn't happen in the futuristic CoD games. But considering how much th...

YouTube adventures -65- Self promotion is a sin?

You've probably seen it before, you check the comment section under a video of a popular YouTuber and discover several comments of people trying to lure people to their channel. Some will even go so far as to promise you rewards if you're one of the first to check out his or her video. It makes you wonder... Is self promotion a sin? I can tell you that it's not against the rules but heavily frowned upon in the YouTube community. I can definitely understand that some people are eager to see their channel grow and will do almost anything to make that happen. Some would go that far to promise you presents if you're one of the first viewers or give away prizes if you watch several videos of this YouTuber. This is their business, it's easy to say that it's a scam but who knows you might actually get something. But when people promise me things online I usually already doubt that from the moment I hear or read it. Eventhough it's not against the rules to pro...

Summer game tip: SpeedRunners

It's Summer! Which is great for some people but absolutely unbearable for other people. So I try to find some games for you to play during this hot and often boring season for gamers. I start with a popular game and that's for free now on Xboxlive if you're a gold member on the Xbox One. I'm talking of course about SpeedRunners! What is SpeedRunners? A simple idea really, you and three other people or bots race on a screen and try to beat the others by getting so far in the lead that the others go off screen and explode. Eventhough this is a 2D side scrolling type of game it does look pretty good and it's a lot of fun! You can pick one of several runners and some are quite ridiculous, yes I'm looking at you Falcon (the guy in the chicken suit)! The race is pretty dynamic with jumps, boosts and your grappling hook that can give you an extra boost or help you reach new paths for a short cut. What really makes the game fun are the power items that help you scre...

The golden loot box is useless in Overwatch?

There was some talk about golden loot boxes and that they were supposedly the type of loot boxes that would contain all the previous event items. But unfortunately golden loot boxes only contain one guaranteed vanilla legendary item. Which is a huge disappointment for a lot of fans. Then there's also the bullshit with subscribing to Twitch Prime if you want to get one free golden loot box. To keep it simple and short, is it worth it? Nope! Are people (still) mad at Blizzard? It wouldn't surprise me. I mean the whole dance emote thing is still fresh in our memories and here is the next fuck you to the fans. Anyone that had some hopes and dreams have seen them crushed and you're back in fuckville. Thank you and have a nice stay! People don't give a shit about these golden loot boxes if they only contain vanilla legendary stuff, I mean who the hell cares about that at this time? Sure maybe in the first couple of months when nobody really had these but now more than a y...

Assassin's Creed Origins, back to the beginning?

The Ezio trilogy has probably some of the favourite Assassin's Creed games in it, but I must admit that I really enjoyed playing Assassin's Creed Syndicate. So I was surprised that they went back to the past in this game, but was it a bad move? I don't think so! Assassin's Creed Origins looks pretty good and I must admit that the Egyptian time with the Roman invasion is a very interesting time. So hopefully this will be a fun game to play! Origins as in how it all begins? It certainly looks that way, in one of the trailers I've seen someone mentions that these assassins are the first to see the gods. You probably know by now that with gods  they mean the ancient race that ruled on Earth. So probably in this game you figure out more about this ancient race and maybe discover some other secret as well. The origins stories are usually interesting stories because you find out more about something, even when you think you know everything already then an origins story...

Movie Monday: Watchmen

It's time to take another jump back in time, eventhough the movie isn't that old it takes place mostly in the 80's, and look at an alternate time where the world is a lot darker and things aren't that simple. Watchmen is a super hero movie without any real super heroes, ok Doctor Manhattan has super powers, he's the only one who has super powers in this universe, but is he really a hero? A lot of people thought that nobody could make a movie about the graphic novel but Zack Snyder proved everyone wrong! No more super heroes? Things are weird in the Watchmen universe, people aren't allowed to dress up and fight crime and the USA is very close to a nuclear war with the Sovjiet Union. Pretty scary when you think of it but then something completely different happens, one of the Watchmen is murdered and some members are trying to solve the crime while dealing with their own personal problems. What could've been a simple murder investigation turns into somethi...

Sinful Sunday: Why so negative?

It was a crazy time with all the new videos coming out, so many new trailers and gameplay videos. But I noticed that below almost every video there would be a lot of people that were so negative. It wasn't just the typical troll saying that the game sucks but people that are complaining that the E3 is a joke, that there are no new games coming out worth their attention or that there is only one game they liked and the rest is all garbage. It really made me think what happened to the gaming community, why are there so many people so negative? What makes gamers so negative? About twenty years ago people were often very excited if new games were launched, it was a special time because back then you would get new games every week. I think that is one of the problems these days, there are so many new games coming out every week that some people get sick and tired of them and easily fall into a negativity. The last game I played sucked so this new game probably sucks too. At least th...

The Evil Within 2, what a freaky surprise!

Did you play the Evil Within? Then you know what you're in for, a disturbing survival horror game that isn't kind for the player. Not only do you die pretty fast but you also don't get a lot of ammo and health to work with. So it really brings out the survival part in a survival horror game. But what does the Evil Within 2 have in store for us? Sebastian is back? Yep! The main protagonist from the Evil Within is back and he looks like he's been through some tough times. He is contacted by Julie Kidman, who helped you in the previous game and you could play as her in the dlc, and she tells him that his daughter, who he thought had died, is still alive and that he's the only one that can save her. But that means he has to go back into the horrible nightmare world, aka STEM. It seems Mobius, the organization that works from the shadows, had kidnapped Sebastian's daughter and faked her death so they could use her for experiments. But apparently something went wr...

Vampyr, embrace your inner vampire!

It's been some time since I saw a good vampire game, the last time I enjoyed playing as a vampire was in the Dawnguard dlc in Skyrim. But let's not forget about Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines which is my favourite vampire game so far. It seems that Vampyr isn't just a quick cash grab title to lure in some vampire fans, no Vampyr looks like a very interesting game that offers you more than some simple hack and slash action. The name is Reid, Jonathan Reid? You play as Jonathan Reid, a doctor that has resently been turned into a vampire. The game takes place in London 1918 so expect some creepy and gothic environments instead of bright streets and cameras everywhere. What's interesting about Vampyr is that you decide what kind of person you're going to be. If you want to be the stealthy vampire that only kills the bad guys then you can be that kind of vampire, but you can also be the savage killer that just kills everyone and shows no mercy! There is even an o...

Anthem, oh my gawd!!!

During E3 there are a lot of new games announced, a lot of trailers and gameplay videos that make their way to the public but there is usually one game that sticks out and last year that was Fallout 4 for me but this year it's Anthem! I mean seriously this game looks amazing! If I would be a grahpics geek then I would geek the fuck out! But in all honesty the game just looks very solid and a lot of fun to play! This isn't Destiny? I know that the first thing you might want to say when you see Anthem is that this game is trying to copy Destiny. I see the similarities but I think that Anthem has a lot more to offer, not just in the open world but also in gameplay. Also keep in mind that Bioware is the developer for this game so you know that you can expect a good story and interesting gameplay. Yes I hear you complaining about Mass Effect Andromeda but keep in mind that nobody is perfect! In Anthem you play as a freelancer and it's your job to protect the city you live...

Fortnite, the game that kept you waiting!

I can't even remember when I last heard about this game, but I'm glad it didn't get cancelled because it looks really good and it definitely looks like a lot of fun to play! The biggest surprise for this game isn't that it's still alive but that it's coming out soon, on the 25th of July. If you pre-order the game you get it even several days early on the 21st of July (if I'm not mistaken). So it seems that Summer will be a lot more fun for gamers! Dead Rising meets Minecraft? You could say that, but that would only be my way to describe the game to people who don't know anything about it. Fortnite is the type of game you can play alone or with your friends (up to three other people) and together you have to fight a swarm of monsters that try to kill you and destroy your stuff! This building goes pretty smooth and you can do that even during the attack of the monsters, this will often mean some quick thinking or gathering some resources to build whate...

Xbox One X, the future for gamers?

Just when you think a console can't look any better we get the Xbox One X, a console that earns to be called one sexy mother fucker! But it's not just about the looks, people are of course interested what's so impressive about this new console. Isn't this just another boosted Xbox One? Sure you could say that, but keep in mind that boosted would be the understatement of the year! Before I talk about the console I would like to mention that I'm not a tech nerd, so all the technical details you will have to get from someone else. I just want to talk about the console and what kind of impact it will have on the future for gamers. Not just another Xbox One? Nope, this console can give you true 4K gaming. I know not everyone knows what this means, I doubt I even know exactly what this means, but it comes down to being able to play games in 4K quality. Of course not every game can give you that, so don't expect every game you play on the Xbox One X to be that amaz...

Movie Monday: John Wick 2

After the amazing John Wick, the first movie, we get the sequel that is just as good if not better. Expect some quick and deadly shooting, action packed moments and intense brutal combat! In a way John Wick 2 is the sequel we need but maybe not the one we deserve, but I'm happy that I saw it anyway! Don't make John Wick mad? If there is one thing that I learned from the movies is that you don't piss off John Wick. In the first movie some piece of shit killed his dog and stole his car, of course John Wick couldn't let that go and got his revenge. In the sequel an old acquaitance visits him and wants to collect on a favor. John refuses and the old acquaintance burns down his house. Forced to help this douchebag John goes to Rome and does the job for him. But afterwards everything goes to hell and it seems that John is as far from retirment as a student just fresh out of college! John Wick the killing machine? The interesting part about John Wick is that he's h...

Sinful Sunday: Death to rage quitters?!!!

Ok that might be a bit extreme but it's really frustration how some people seem to rage quit at the first sign of trouble. Imagine having to fight in a war with someone like that. Oh there are enemies well time to run away guys. Yeah great, we're so screwed in the next war... Why do people rage quit so much? You would have to ask that to a rage quitter, but my guess is that a lot of people leave a game out of frustration or because they're done with the match and want to move on to something else. But let's not forget the kids that have to go to bed, yes I've actually heard someones mother through the microphone telling her son to go to bed and turning off his Xbox One, so maybe it's not always a rage quit but more of a I stay up past my bedtime type of quit. Then there are people that leave a match to join their friends in a match, you might not see the harm in this but it's still a piece of shit move! The main reason why so many people rage quit is bec...

Should you buy Overwatch loot boxes?

A lot of people have been upset with Blizzard and one of the main things they're so upset about are the loot boxes. People are mad that you get so many duplicates and hardly any of the new event items. Which means the chance of actually getting that new skin or (dance) emote is very small. If you just payed money for fifty loot boxes and you end up getting only two or three event items you're probably really annoyed and I don't blame you! What's wrong with the loot boxes? My biggest problem is that you get way too many duplicates or items that you could also get outside the event. Yesterday I earned nine loot boxes, thanks to the double xp weekend, and in only one of them was a legendary skin and of course it was a vanilla skin (a skin that was in the game since launch). Then there were three boxes with purple items but these all turned out to be duplicates and vanilla emotes. That's so disappointing, especially when you try to get those dance emotes and they...

YouTube adventures -64- Negativity and how to deal with it

No matter how much fun or how helpful your video is there will always be people that will be quite negative towards you and your video. Why? Because they can, because it's the internet and because some people are just assholes. If you're new to uploading videos on YouTube this might come as a surprise but I think most people are aware of how nasty things can get in the comment section. So let me give you some advice how to deal with... Negativity. The number one comment that people often like to throw at me is how terrible my videos are. I don't know if they want to be assholes or try to provoke me but the thing is that I know that my videos are of low quality and I couldn't care less what someone else thinks of them. If I made videos just to get the approval of others then I would definitely be doing things different. I make videos for fun, I don't earn money with them and I honestly don't try to impress people with my videos. It's often just a video wi...

Overwatch double xp weekend, Blizzard is trying to be our friend again?

A lot of people got really mad in the anniversary event, because the long awaited dance emotes are only available in the event. This alone makes a lot of people mad, but what's worse is that the loot boxes are complete and utter bullshit. The duplicates are killing anyone with a little bit of hope of trying to get something good. I don't agree with all the hate towards Blizzard but I do understand that a lot of people are frustrated and to be totally honest I'm a bit frustrated about certain things as well. The double xp weekend is a nice gesture but I doubt it will be enough to calm people down, people are really mad at Blizzard! Why are people so mad with Blizzard? Because once again the players get screwed over, we finally get dance emotes but we only have three weeks to get all 24 of them. That means you have to pay a total of 18.000 credits, the currency in the game you get from loot boxes and duplicates, and then there are still a lot of other expensive things lik...

It's not important who wins a game?

I was raised to always go for the win, 2nd place only makes you the best loser is what I heard when I wasn't first. Even now as an adult this is still burned into my head and drives me to win, but it's not an obsession and I don't fall apart when I lose. But I have to admit that I prefer to win and will do my best to win. This does raise a question, is it really important to win or is having fun more important? Winning is fun, fun is winning? My first decade of gaming was definitely described that way. I love games that made me beat my family and friends and I hated games where I couldn't beat them. I would play certain games so much just to beat the highscore of a friend, because that's what you do when you're a competitive douchebag. But in truth it never made me happy, I mean sure at first it feels good to win but it's not this is what truly makes you happy. I discovered that just spending time with family and friends playing games was actually that m...

Overwatch ranked placement matches are rigged?

This is a bold statement and I will explain why I get this idea. But first I have to mention that my experience was on the Xbox One, maybe things are working fine on the Playstation 4 and PC but on the Xbox One I've gotten some weird experiences with the ranked placement matches and it really makes me wonder if they actually work! What happened? I was playing my placement matches for season 5 in Overwatch and I was doing actually pretty good. I won six out of ten and only lost three, mostly thanks to throwers, with one draw as well. In my opinion that's not a bad result and getting a lot of gold medals in eight of the ten matches, the other two matches I got a lot of silver medals, it means I was doing well. But then I get the result, I get the low gold rank. This came as a shock because not only did I get a platinum rank in all the other seasons but it was also a low gold rank, 2200, which isn't even close to platinum. I couldn't believe it, how did I get this rank...

Movie Monday: Guardians of the Galaxy volume 2

Did you like Guardians of the Galaxy? Then you're going to love the sequel because it's pretty good! I must admit that I was a bit cautious about this movie because sequels aren't always as good as the first movie and disappointment is nothing new here. But Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is actually really good and a lot of fun to watch. Definitely a movie I can recommend! Peter finds his daddy? With all the daddy talk online this almost sounds dirty, but seriously Peter never met his father and then suddenly out of nowhere there is the guy and he is quite impressive. Ego, Peter's dad, is played by Kurt Russel and seems to be just as amazing as you would think of someone who has the powers of a god. Ego is actually a living planet and has been looking for Peter for all that time. Of course Peter is a bit cautious at first but then is happy that his dad is actually a cool guy. But is there more to Ego? Usually when things seem too good to be true they usually are... Wha...
