YouTube adventures part -50- It's your channel?
I make videos that I like, maybe that's selfish but I think it's silly to make videos to please others. Maybe people that have a lot of subcribers and get a lot views feel the weight of their opinions more but when you have a super small channel like me then you can pretty much do whatever you want! Or not?
It's your YouTube channel?
There is nothing wrong with giving the subscribers and viewers what they want, especially if it's something you like to do as well. But you should keep in mind that it is your channel and that you should do what makes you happy. If you keep making videos just to please others and not have fun yourself then I wonder how long you can keep that up because things will only become worse and when you have less fun making the videos then I doubt your sucscribers will like that. So stop trying to please people and just do what makes you happy, if other people like that as well then that's good but if they don't like it then that's just too bad for them. Do what makes you happy!
I've looked at the views of some of my videos and I've seen that certain videos get a lot of views, at least for a small channel, and other videos hardly get any views at all. But I've never felt the urge to repeat that, to make a video just like the one that got a lot of views. I like to make videos but trying to copy a more succesful video doesn't look like fun to me! Besides sooner or later people will notice what you're doing and I wonder how they'll feel about that. I prefer to make videos spontaniously, which means with live commentary and just see where things go. I don't like scripted videos and I refuse to make those, no matter how many views that might get me. Let's just get one thing straight, I don't care about the amount of subscribers or the amount of views, nor do I care about people liking the video. Do what makes you happy and I'll do the same.
Sometimes people make suggestions, this is sometimes from other YouTubers and sometimes from viewers. I'm not saying that I don't appreciate the advice but I prefer to do things my own way, even if that means staying a super small channel with bad quality videos. I'm not in it for the money or the fame, it's just something I do for fun and that's how it should be in my opinion. It's my channel and I do what I want with it. So if one day I decide not to upload videos anymore then that is my decisions just as me posting ten videos on one day could be my decision. My point with this is that you should do what you want with your channel, don't be too eager to listen to others what you should do. With that logic you should also not listen to me... Anyway all I'm saying is try to have fun with your channel, try out some new things and see what works for you. But remember to keep things fun because once you go super serious and just try to get as many subscribers, views and likes then you're in a dangerous territory where things can go from bad to worse. Just keep it fun and things should stay fun, hopefully.
