YouTube adventures part -49- Making friends/enemies
When I play games I have moments where I meet friendly people and sometimes not so friendly people, as a YouTuber it's pretty much the same idea because you can encounter friendly people and not so friendly people. Some will support you and even give you advice while others can only insult you or talk shit about you and your videos. I guess you can't really escape that, but don't let that keep you from starting a YouTube channel or keep going with your channel. It can't all be about...
Making friends/enemies!
When I first started with my channel I didn't tell anyone about it, not my family and not my friends. I didn't want to get pity subscribers or views from them. If my videos suck then let it be so, I was looking for honesty and not attention. Eventually my sister found out and she was one of my first subscribers, soon after that others followed but I was never someone with a lot of subscribers or views and I'm ok with that. I don't really consider myself as a professional YouTuber but more of a guy who enjoys making videos and share those with others who are interested in watching those videos.
Sometimes people would contact me, often people who also have a small YouTube channel and they want to subscribe to you if you subscribe to them. They watched some of your videos and they want you to watch some of them, they often don't demand that but ask as a friend. Just keep in mind that these people are often not your friends, most of the time they're people looking for subscribers and views and will pretty much say anything to get some more. I'm not saying that they're all bad but just keep in mind that you're just one of many they contact with this kind of crap. It's up to you if you want to take them up on their offer.
When I play games I'm not really looking for friends, but if I meet friendly people I'm not going to behave like an asshole to them. In the end we all just want to have fun and that's a good thing, eventhough sometimes this fun comes at the expense of other people. When I turn on my console and start playing games I just want to have a good time, I'm pretty certain I'm not the only one! Meeting other people, not just in games but sometimes also in a comment section of a forum or something like that, can be fun but sometimes also not that much fun. Not everyone is going to be your friend and some people will sometimes prove to be fake friends.
I don't want to make enemies, but some people clearly treat you as one and will make your life miserable for no reason at all sometimes. Maybe it's because they're having a bad day and will react on one of your videos with negativity or they just don't like the video and decide that they have to let you know how they feel about it. There isn't much you can do about it but I can advice you not to take it too serious. Most of these people are just randomly bumping into your videos and you'll most likely never hear from them again. Not everyone will be nice and not everyone will be supportive, that's a shame but you can't really expect everyone to be you friend. Just try to have fun with what you're doing and hopefully some people enjoy watching your videos. I think that's all most YouTubers really want.
