Games give you feelings?

Maybe some tough and cool people would never admit that they got emotional because of a game but in all honesty I think most people that play games feel something. Games often make you happy, sad, angry, annoyed, depressed, they can make you laugh and sometimes even make you think about things in life. In some games you can get all these emotions and then there are games where you get no emotions from at all. It's all possible!

Games can make you feel in a certain way?

Absolutely! Have you ever played one of the Telltale games? Well then you probably know how games can make you feel, one moment you're happy and the next moment you're sad because of choices or just things that happen in the game. There are also other games like Lost Odyssey and Final Fantasy XV that have some intense moments, the music definitely makes things even more intense and the feelings you get from that are very real. You might think that this is silly but I think that the developers mean for you to feel in a certain way, they don't just do certain things in a game to annoy you but to make you feel something. That way you're more invested with the characters and the story, because if nothing ever happens and it's just pretty much a safe ride in the game then I doubt you would feel much for the characters but the moments things happen then you're way more invested even if something bad happens that can't be avoided.

Why do some people hate these emotions in a game?

Well some 'cool' people just think it's way more interesting to pretend that the game doesn't do anything to them, but in truth I doubt that there are many emotionless people out there. Most people are more likely to just pretend that a game has no meaning to them for some lame attempt to sound cool. But I think it's way more cool to be honest and actually admit that a game means something to you. So crying because of what happened in a game might not sound cool but it's actually quite brave to admit that you did, because it shows you're not some lame douchebag that tries to be cool and that you're actually human. Because you'd have to be some type of machine not to cry at certain moments in games, eventhough some people are more sensitive to certain things than others.

Why would you want to play games that can make you sad?

You could ask a similar question to people that want to play survival horror games, why do you play games that try to scare you? Well for some people it's a way to live and it makes them feel alive. For example if you lead a boring life then playing a game where a lot of exciting and emotional things happen might be just something for you to bring some colour to your life, sure it's not real what happens in the game but the emotions you feel are real. But I doubt that people play games to feel sad, they play games for the adventure and experience. Because let's keep in mind that even in sad games there are some moments of happiness, as small as they are just like there are moments of happiness in the life of someone that has lost so much in his or her life. Games just try to give us an adventure or experience, it's up to you if you want to experience that. In my opinion it's often worth it, even if there are some very sad moments in certain games that make you cry. It's the hope that things get better later that makes you want to push on and keep playing the game.
