Unhelpful team mates in games
When you play multiplayer with other people then there is a good chance you end up in a team with other people that aren't going to be very helpful. This can be quite simple as in not communicating up to the point where people are blaming you for everything that goes wrong or where people are just picking fights with others because they're having a bad day. Somehow there is never a shortage of unhelpful people online!
People blame you for losing?
Oh yeah this is quite popular, I know that I sometimes also have this urge but I keep this to myself. But it's usually not rocket science to figure out who the weak link in the team is, usually it's someone who gets no kills and pretty much does nothing or just keeps dying. Does that give you the right to blame this person for the loss? Well you could see it that way, but I think a decent person just accepts the loss and moves on. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of decent people in online competitive multiplayer, which means that people will be blamed and get crap for sometimes no reason at all. I got blamed yesterday for a loss as well. I was playing as D.VA in Overwatch capture the flag and this guy sent me a message blaming me for losing, he said I could've picked up the flag when I clearly couldn't. Instead of getting mad at this guy I just explained that I couldn't because half their team was hitting me and you can't pick up the flag when you get hit. But this guy claims that nobody hit me and I could've just picked it up. I don't know if this guy was being serious but honestly I know when I'm being hit and when I can and can't pick up the flag. This guy was playing as Hanzo by the way and died more than anyone else without getting anything done and refused to switch to a more helpful character. Some people are just going to be negative and somehow there is always someone else to blame.
Trolling instead of helping?
Sticking to Overwatch you probably know how some people like to pick Mei and then freeze up the entrance so people can't go out of the spawn area. This is quite annoying and unfortunately there isn't much you can do about it. Some people go so far to harass you most of the match as Mei by constantly putting up a wall of ice in front of you, this isn't just annoying but also incredibly unhelpful because as a healer you can't heal, as a tank you can't get to the action and as a damage dealer your damage is being blocked. Then there are also games like Rainbow Six Siege where friendly fire is one, this often means that some people think it's funny to shoot you and then teabag you. Yeah great fun but then they get destroyed by the other team and get teabagged in return, yes we're all having a great time! Something similar happened in Halo 5 where a team mate of mine has a power weapon and another guy on my team wants that so he team kills the guy with the power weapon and then picks up the weapon for himself. Yeah that's great team work right there!
Picking certain characters or classes is unhelpful too?
You might not always realize it but sometimes picking a certain character or class in a game can be very unhelpful. For example in Battlefield 1 if nobody picks the medic or the support then things will be that much harder for your team to win. I understand some people like to be the scout but when you have more than a dozen scouts then it would be nice if you can also get some other classes as well. In Overwatch this is also a problem where somehow I end up a lot of times in teams where nobody wants to be the tank or the healer, which sometimes means you have two snipers but no tank or healer. That is very frustrating and nine out of ten times a guaranteed defeat unless the other team is just as bad. I understand that some people want to play as a certain character and yes it sucks if you have to constantly play as a healer or tank, but it also sucks when you lose ten times in a row because you keep ending up in these type of teams where nobody wants to be the healer or tank. I know everyone just wants to have fun but losing almost every match because of unhelpful team mates is really frustrating and isn't fun at all!
