What does 2017 bring for gamers?

Happy New Year everyone!

We're at the start of a new year and hopefully it's going to be a good year for gamers! But I have no doubts about that considering that we have a lot of interesting titles already announced and who knows how many more there will be during the year.

So 2017 will be a good year for gamers?

I think it's a bit early to say that but a lot of interesting games have been announced. Some of these games I already played, for example Resident Evil 7, and from others I have seen some cool gameplay videos, for example Mass Effect Andromeda, which make me believe that 2017 will be a good year for gamers. But those two games are just some of the many games I think will be worth checking out. Other games you might want to keep an eye on are: For honor, Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Agents of mayhem, Cuphead, Friday the 13th: the game, God of War, Kingdom Hearts 3, Red Dead Redemption 2, Scalebound, State of decay 2 and Vampyr. I'm probably forgetting some games but I think this is already a pretty impressive list for 2017 and games that are worth checking out!

As a gamer you'll once again spend a lot of time on playing games?

Well that's up to you, I'm not telling you how you should live your life and if you want to play games instead of doing other things then that's really your decision and not mine. Of course with a new year there are also resolutions and it wouldn't suprise me that some people want to play less games and go out more. That is actually not a bad idea but don't do things you don't want to, that will only make you unhappy. But if it comes down to leading a more healthy life then I would definitely recommend going out a bit more instead of sitting in front of you pc or tv all day. There are a lot of fun games coming out so you might want to make good use of the time in between these games you really want to play, because once those fun games launch it is just a lot more difficult to stick to those resolutions!

Anyway I hope everyone had a good time yesterday and a that today is the start of a fun and exciting year!

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Button bashing is nothing new but I do seem to see it in more and more games, even games that could easily do without this abusive way of treating your controller. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with. These kind of players are so serious that they probably left the fun behind when they started the game. Sigh... Serious gamers are lame gamers? There is nothing wrong about being serious, but I think there is a time and a place for everything. When I play a game with my friends then I'm not being serious nor am I serious when I start up some random multiplayer match. Sure it's nice to win but it's not everything! Mortal Kombat X isn´t just another fighting game?

You´ve probably seen the announce trailer of Mortal Kombat X, then you probably also know that it shows two familiar characters fighting against eachother. At that point you´re probably still thinking that it´s just more of the same but with a better coat of paint, I understand that pessimist look and it´s not often wrong. But from what I´ve heard about Mortal Kombat X is that it´s going to be more than just a new game in the Mortal Kombat game series. What´s new? Apparently there will be more fighting styles for one character, giving everyone his or her own favourite style to use against opponents. There was something familiar in another Mortal Kombat game where they also had weapons in a fighting style, but this seems to go a bit deeper and more unique. Of course these are just words at this point, nothing has been proven just yet!
