Overwatch: Year of the Rooster event

I must admit that I didn't expect to get another event that quickly in Overwatch because the Winter Wonderland event was less than a month ago active. But that doesn't make this a lame filler event, this event actually gives you something new to do in the game and you get some more customizable items you can use to make your characters look cool.

Year of the Rooster event is a good event?

 When I look at the skins then there are definitely some cool looking skins but I can't say I like all of them, but that's fine because I already have a lot of skins I'm happy with so one more or less on a character doesn't really matter to me. The new game mode, capture the rooster, is capture flag and I have to admit that it's a fun game mode in Overwatch. You can play as all characters and you have to defend your flag while trying to capture the flag of the other team. It's not that difficult and yet it can be difficult sometimes to win.

So this is the capture the flag mode everyone was asking for?

 I can't speak for everyone but this capture the flag mode is pretty fun to play, it's quick and very much in Overwatch style which means the use of abilities while you have captured the flag and you need some good teamwork to win! My only real problem with this game mode is the flagbearer achievement that is bugged, so if you were one of the people that captured the flag then you won't get the achievement if your team wins with 3 - 0. Hopefully this gets fixed soon but until then you might want to keep in mind that this achievement is bugged on the Xbox One, maybe also on Playstation 4 and PC. I think that capture the rooster is a lot more fun than Mei's snowball offensive in the Winter Wonderland event, mostly because you can play as more than just one character and it is pretty much Overwatch with a new game mode that is actually fun to play.

Should you check out this event?

 I think it's worth checking out, mostly because the game offers you some new things that are only available during the event so you might want to check it out while you can! But I did hear that capture the flag might remain in arcade mode if it's going to be a huge succes, so who knows you might be able to play that some more later this year. So feel free to check out the new event and hopefully you have a good time and get some good items from the loot boxes!

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Button bashing is nothing new but I do seem to see it in more and more games, even games that could easily do without this abusive way of treating your controller. Movie Monday: Mr & Mrs Smith

There are movie that might not look good at first, when you hear about it, but once you see the movie then you know that it's a fantastic movie. What really made Mr & Mrs Smith so good was the acting of the two main stars in the movie, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. They had so much fun making this movie that it's an absolute joy to watch the movie. Which is good news for people that are looking for a fun movie to watch! Married to a spy? The story of Mr & Mrs Smith is pretty simple, a man is a spy and marries to a woman not knowing that she's a spy too. Apparently both of them are unaware of eachothers activities until their paths cross in their spy life, which leads to a lot of fighting and explosions. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with.
