Resident Evil 7 is going back to its roots?
I keep hearing in videos about Resident Evil 7 that the game is going back to its roots, in other words how it all started. But is that really true? I mean if I look at Resident Evil or even Resident Evil remake then it looks nothing like Resident Evil 7. Perhaps they just mean that the game is scary again and has less to do with getting a high zombie kill count.

I don't think that's true, because going back to its roots would mean something else than Resident Evil 7. You would have a third person survival horror shooter with fixed camera positions and zombies. Yes zombies, this is something we haven't really seen for quite some time in the Resident Evil games. Ok in Resident Evil 6 you have zombies in the Leon campaign but that still felt a bit off to me. Where are the creepy encounters in a small room where you either have to turn around and run as fast as you can or quickly try to shoot it in the head! Resident Evil 7 is going to be a scary survival horror experience but i wouldn't say the game is going back to its roots. They took a different road, in my opinion an interesting road that I would love to check out.
Is Resident Evil 7 worth checking out?
Ah yes, that is the big question isn't it? Well I think it is, not only because the game looks very creepy and is probably exactly what a lot of survival horror fans would like to play but also because it feels new and exciting. Ok there are other games out there, Outlast to name one, that are similar but I think that Resident Evil 7 might still have some interesting surprises we don't know about. We know that there are some scary people living in a haunted mansion and that they're hunting you, but what else is there? There are certain creatures called the molded, black slimy monsters that are tough to kill, and that will make your life miserable but maybe there are also zombies. It's not completley unthinkable and who knows maybe Capcom is keeping that a secret for us to find out. I think that Resident Evil 7 looks great, I played the demo and it is very good and I really enjoyed playing that, and I would definitely recommend this game to other people. Just keep in mind that it's a scary game and you might not want to play this when you are easily scared. Otherwise keep the lights on and someone close to keep your calm. But if you feel like taking the challenge then play the game alone at night with the lights off and your headphones on. Good luck, you might just need it...
