Solo queue in (ranked) multiplayer is dumb?

A lot of times I jump into multiplayer on my own, most of my friends play on pc or Playstation or they play different games than me. This often means that if I want to play multiplayer I have to do that on my own, which isn't really a problem until you face a team of friends that will utterly destroy you! So the question is, is it dumb to solo queue in multiplayer?

Multiplayer should only be for groups?

I certainly hope not! I mean we don't all have friends that play the same games or that are available to play games with every time you want to play a game. So if my only chance to play multiplayer would be with teaming up with other people then I would be miserable. I like to jump in whenever I want to, even if this means I have to solo queue. I'm ok with that because I can usually handle things, as long as I'm not facing a pro team or a team that works really well together. I try to be social and helpful but when your entire team stays silent and there is no teamwork at all then I can understand why some people feel like they need their friends to help them because mutliplayer can be a very frustrating experience. I think it's wrong if multiplayer would only be for groups and that the solo queue would be made impossible, I think that games will suffer for that and it won't make people want to play the game more often or help people find teams more often.

Why do people solo queue in (ranked) multiplayer?

Why not? Are you supposed to wait until you meet friendly people somewhere and then decide to form a group so you can enter multiplayer together? We don't all get that lucky but most of us do want to play certain multiplayer games, so yeah some people solo queue and that can be a painful and frustrating experience but at the same time it can also be a fun experience. Sometimes you even meet friendly people in multiplayer matches and you can always form groups later, so it's not like people that solo queue are dedicated to that. It's just sometimes the only way we can play games. Taking this away from people is wrong and that is dumb in my opinion. I don't think you need to be in a group to do better in (ranked) multiplayer, as long as you communicate with your team and work well together then you should be fine. The problem is that a lot of people that solo queue don't talk and don't really want to work together with other people, at that point you're often getting a lot of hate from the rest of the team and I can understand that because it really sucks when one person on your team is ruining things for the rest of your team. But at the same time certain people are very toxic and will give you shit the moment you do something he or she doesn't like. The thing is that you can't make everyone happy and if you solo queue you will encounter some upleasant people, you can't really avoid that. But there are also friendly people and who knows if you both enjoy playing games together you can team up so in the future you don't have to solo queue anymore. If not then it's not a shame that you solo queue, just be social and helpful which will hopefully help your team to win.
