Spawn points in multiplayer are bad?
It's probably one of the most frustrating things in multiplayer, you spawn in the game and within five seconds you get killed by another player. That seems rare but unfortunately it happens a lot in multiplayer, not just in one or two games but in almost every online multiplayer game I can think of. Maybe it's impossible to create a safe spot in a game full of people that are eager to kill eachother but it's really frustrating to be killed so quickly immediately after spawn. So what can be done about that?
A short moment of invulnerability immediately after spawn?
This seems like a good idea, but then when someone spawns right in front of you then that person can easily kill you and there's nothing you can do about that. I think this will be very annoying for people on a killstreak and get taken out like this. Getting spawn protection is nice, but when people get a chance to use this against people then that becomes annoying and in my opinion wrong.
You can pick your own spawn point?
This seems like a good idea but it might take a moment to find this good spawn point, which means your team will be without a player(s) for some time and that could weaken them. Also a good spawn point can change quite fast into a bad spawn point in a matter of seconds, so the moment it looked good and you click to spawn there it can already have turned into a bad one. Unless you use a captured spot that is impossible for enemy players to get to.
You always spawn at one point far from the frontline?
This is most likely a safe spot, but it means you'll have to walk all the way back to the frontline and that can be annoying if you get killed ten or twenty times in a match. If you get killed in a match you want to get back into the action as fast as you can, not spend several minutes getting back to the frontline and then hoping you don't get sniped on your way there.
Bad spawn points are just a part of online multiplayer?
It sometimes feels that way, but I've played games where it was better and you actually had a moment of safety. Of course if you rush out then there is always a chance that you get gunned down shortly after a spawn, so it's smart to take a moment and secure your spawn point. If you do get unlucky and spawn at a point that gets you killed then that would motivate you to not get killed that much in a match, I know that sounds stupid but it does make sense. If you don't get killed you don't have to worry that much about spawn points. Unless you're a spawn camper, but then you're also a piece of shit so I don't think anyone cares what you think. I guess you just have to accept that sometimes you get a bad spawn, get over it and hope for the best the next time you spawn. I know that's not helpful but in my experience bad spawns are just a part of online multiplayer and it's almost impossible to not get affected by that.
