Batman Arkham Knight has terrible dlc?
I was really looking forward to play Batman Arkham Knight, I love the previous Arkham games so this one had to be amazing as well...right? Well not exactly, sure the game is good (at least if you play it on a console) but the whole batmobile forced into the game and more of that type of nonsense really made me unhappy with this game really fast. So I thought let's give the dlc a chance, it looks good from the trailers and it gives you the chance to play with other characters in the Batman universe. Good, right? Wrong!
Batman Arkham Knight dlc is super short?
The biggest complaint I have for the Arkham Knight dlc is that it's super short, it's something you can clear in about ten minutes and that's not just one piece of dlc but almost all of it. Sure they give you a lot of races in dlc but I seriously doubt that people bought Batman Arkham Knight for racing. It just feels like I've been robbed, because you pay 40 Dollars/Euros for the season pass and what you get back for it just doesn't feel like it's worth it. The Harley Quinn and Red Hood dlc are both a joke, super short and all scripted nonsense without giving you any real freedom. The Batgirl dlc is actually pretty good, that does give you freedom and allows you to pick your own way in the dlc area. That actually made me hopeful for other dlc after that but it turns out it's much easier to make the super short dlc so that's what you got with all the other dlc packs.
But there's a lot to do with all the dlc, right?
Oh sure there is a lot to do, there are challenges and races you can do but I don't think everyone is interested in that. I think that people would be ten times more interested in getting to play as Nightwing, Robin or Catwoman in the main game after Batman and go on their own adventure. When you're done with that adventure you could explore Gotham City with that character, now that would have been amazing! But instead you get a super short story, clear out these enemies and make progress to the other area and then after that face a boss and you're done. No I'm not kidding, that's the dlc! Of course I can try to get a high score in the challenges or in one of many races in the batmobile but I can't say that this interests me that much, I just wish there was more story with the other characters and made them more available in the game. I mean you go from having a second playable character (Catwoman) in Arkham City to just Batman again in Arkham Knight. That feels like a step back for me.
Should you get Batman Arkham Knight dlc?
Well that's up to you, I would definitely not recommend it though. Why? Because it's not worth the price. You pay a lot of money for several short moments with other characters and one decent story mission with Batgirl, but that's not worth 40 Dollars/Euros! My advice is to spend your money on a new game, that will be more fun than to play some lame dlc for an average game. If you really do want the dlc for Arkham Knight then at least wait until it's a bit cheaper because you don't want to spend that much money on it. But then again it's your money so you do with it what you want, just remember that I warned you!
