Sony takes over the shooter genre?
It seems Sony goes for gold when it comes to shooters, because a lot of popular shooters have exclusive deals with Sony and so fans of these popular shooters will most likely play them on the Playstation 4 to benefit from these exclusive deals. But what does that mean for the other consoles and PC? Is this the end for the Xbox One or do they also have enough to offer?
Exclusive deals aren't that interesting?
I play games on my Xbox One, I played Destiny on my Xbox One and not one moment did I feel like I was missing out on something. Oh sure the Playstation 4 players had extra strikes and weapons but it never bothered me, it also didn't mean I couldn't enjoy Destiny. Now that Sony has the exclusive deal with Activision the dlc for CoD arrives a month early on the Playstation 4, something that was for a long time the deal between Activision and Microsoft. I guess you could call Sony a sad imitator but in fact it's just business and who is the one suffering under that? Exactly the gamers, at least those that don't have a Playstation 4. It's not terrible that we get the dlc a month later but you can imagine that it's not fun.
Sony cares about gamers?
If you have seen a Sony commercial for their Playstation 4 then you're probably familiar with the this is for the players text at the end. But I wonder what they really mean with that, because if Sony really is there for the players then why make more and more things exlcusive for the Playstation 4? I don't think Sony gives a flying fuck about gamers, they just want to find more ways to lure more people to their console. But to be honest that's what you expect and I'd say Microsoft isn't better when it comes to this type of bullshit. I really hate this competitive nonsense and the only ones that suffer under that are the players, because do we really all have to buy a Playstation 4 to enjoy a game? No we don't! But if you want to get the dlc early, get extra items in the game and more of that type of nonsense then you'll probably have to switch to a Playstation 4 otherwise you'll have to wait longer and miss out on exclusive items.
So Xbox One and PC gamers are screwed?
Actually they're not, because eventhough Sony might hold some interesting cards they don't hold all the cards and there are a lot of games out there you can play on your Xbox One and/or PC and some of them are also exclusive for the Xbox One. If you like shooters then Halo 5 is also a fun game to play, if you like action/adventure then Rise of the Tomb Raider is an interesting game you might want to check out. You can't play those games on your Playstation 4 (Rise of the Tomb Raider will be available a year after launch for the PS4 but why wait a year?) so it's not like you can throw your Xbox One or PC away. Don't let yourself be pressured into buying something you don't really want or you can't really afford. There are a lot of fun games on the Xbox One and PC, so don't worry about Sony and let them have their exclusive deals. I'll enjoy playing my games just as much on my Xbox One!
