The quest for the best class in multiplayer
Whenever there is a game coming out with online competitive multiplayer there is always this quest to find the best class, the best loadout and the best way to quickly level up. What's really surprising that this isn't always the same, because one person might prefer one class/loadout and someone else might like another class/loadout. This is actually a good thing, but for some people it can be confusing. So how do you deal with that? That's simple, do what works best for you!
There is no best class/loadout?
Well usually there is, a weapon that can get kills fast and/or a class that is just a bit stronger than other classes. For example in Black Ops 3 the M8A7 is a very popular weapon, the same can be said about the sunbreaker titan in Destiny because you'll see a lot of people in multiplayer use that class and get a lot of kills with that class. That doesn't mean that other weapons or classes in those games are crap, but it does mean that some are just better than others.
Why do you need weapon balance?
I think it's more fun when multiple weapons are good than just this one super weapon, that keeps a game interesting and makes you want to switch it up a bit instead of constantly using one weapon and getting kills with one weapon. The same can be said about classes, if one class is superior to the others then why would you even play with another class if you get destroyed everytime by someone who is using this stronger class. Games are more fun to play when there isn't one super weapon/class in a game, because then you get to try out other weapons and use other methods to play and hopefully win. If one weapon/class pretty much guarantees succes then why would you use another weapon/class?
You don't need to best weapon/class to win?
One good weapon/class doesn't always guarantee a win, you can beat people who are using a strong weapons or class. For example I won matches in Black Ops 3 against people who were using the M8A7 with the Razorback and with the Sheiva (also two good weapons in Black Ops 3), but I also won matches in Destiny against sunbreaker titans with my gunslinger hunter and with my voidwalker warlock. Sure it's easier to go for the best weapon/class in a game, but if you're up for a challenge and like to teach some people a lesson then you can try other weapons and beat others with the weapon/class you're using. That victory is extra sweet and hopefully gives people the idea that there are more weapons in a game that are good and also more classes that you can try out and actually have a good time with that!
