Sinful Sunday: PvP players
What type of people are PvP players? Usually the type that plays to win because why else would you play PvP? Maybe for fun? Perhaps because his or her friends also play PvP? Or is it because it´s the perfect place to be an asshole to others and get away with it? Let´s take a closer look at some of the people you can encounter in PvP matches.
Winning is everything?
This might surprise you but some people are obsessed with winning, I sometimes also have this strong drive to win and I get upset when my team isn´t making an effort to win. One of the things that annoys me the most in PvP is when I´m in a team that doesn´t play the objective, for example in domination when my team doesn´t help capture and hold points. I see so many people camping in spots just to get a lot of kills and half of the time failing with that. It´s not the objective and it usually doesn´t lead to victory and what´s worse is that it doesn´t help the team! Of course it´s more important to have fun that to win but if winning gets you more experience, a chance on unlocking better stuff and/or making more progress in the game then it´s a good reason to do better!
Why do some people hate PvP?
Usually people don´t hate PvP, they hate some people that play PvP. Because some people find it funny to be an annoying prick online and make it their mission to annoy as many people with their immature behaviour. For example people running around with one shot kill weapons, teabagging, camping and making weird noises in the microphone just to name a few. Sometimes it feels that the worst pieces of shit that can be scooped up with a shovel are put in front of a tv and learned to press a button, that´s usually the idea I get from some players in PvP. Of course they´re not all bad, it´s just a shame that so many bad ones are out there that it´s difficult to enjoy PvP matches. Which is why some people online play PvP with friends and stay away from random players, just to avoid frustration.
Can you avoid these annoying players?
Yes, you can play private matches with friends or you can play against bots. But the moment you go online there´s a good chance that you´ll encounter some annoying people, there´s no avoiding that! I don´t think developers always make a good effort to make PvP better. Sure some say that you only encounter people of your own skill level and yet that´s not always true. Because it´s still annoying when some die hard PvP player(s) destroys the other team. Even when you play with people of your own skill level then there are still campers and people that can only kill with overpowered weapons. It´s difficult to keep the bad ones out of a PvP match and keep the game fun, in the end one team must lose and it´s usually not the team that plays clean. Dirty tricks and cheap actions usually win the match, but I guess that´s nothing new. That´s pretty much how the world works as well...
