Sinful Sunday: Mother knows best?

It´s Mother´s Day! Which means be nice to your mother! But I guess that´s not always easy, a mother that doesn´t understand your hobby or hobbies and wants you to go out and do something. Maybe younger mothers are more familiar with gaming but if you have an older mother (close to fourty when you were born) then it´s difficult to explain what´s so cool about playing games.

Your mother and gaming.

This is a combination that seems quite unlikely for some people, especially when you have a mother that doesn´t like computers or anything related to that. They don´t understand why you spend so much time behind your computer or console playing games. Of course you can try to explain but does she really understand it? As long as you´re happy then your mother is probaby happy as well, unless you rage like a lunatic when someone screws you over in online multiplayer. Then it might be more difficult to explain why you play a game that makes you so mad sometimes. But even if your mother sometimes seems unfair I think that most mothers just want what´s best for you. So maybe when she says that you shouldn´t sit behind your computer or console the entire day then she might have a point!

A mother that plays games?

It´s not that uncommon these days, especially young mothers are sometimes interested in playing games. I guess it´s nice to distract yourself every now and then with some games, if it works for men then it also works for women. But it can also be fun to play some kid friendly games with your kids. I´m not even talking about games that learn you something, just some Mario adventures or maybe Kinect game that´s fun to play with the family. But it wouldn´t surprise me that there are also mothers that play single player games, just to escape reality for a moment. I think a lot of gamers do that and there´s nothing wrong with that, as long as you go back to reality.

Mother knows best?

This is probably not something you want to hear but yeah your mother probably knows best, which means be nice to her and give her something on this day. It doesn´t have to be a big and expensive gift, just a token of appreciation. If you do have a mother that plays games then maybe there´s a game for her that you would like to buy. But it´s not about the size or price of the gift, it´s the thought that counts! Happy Mother´s Day!
