Form your own team in games!

It seems to be a trend in some games these days, making your own team. Maybe you're thinking that this is a good thing and in theory it is, but the problem is  that not everyone knows other people who play the same games or in some cases have friends to play these games with. So then the whole make your own team tactic can be an obstacle that prevents some people from playing that game or at least playing it as it's meant to be played.

Why do developers leave matchmaking out of some games?

I think it's some lame attempt for people to socialize more, to make new friends and not just accept the random people the game throws your way. But what's wrong with that? Not every random player is going to be fun to play with in a game but at least it beats not being able to play at all! Besides isn't it better that you at least give people a choice? Instead of forcing them to go online and try to form a team with strangers, which can be quite an annoying experience if you're unlucky. It's also demoralizing when people ignore you or you keep getting a no, at that point you'd rather try to do certain things solo (and most likely fail) than to spend another minute asking for help. Sure it's not all bad but it usually just takes one bad experience to keep you from trying that again any time soon!

Why try to fix something that isn't broken?

Now that's a good question, why indeed? Apparently it's a crime if you don't make friends in certain online games so if you want to play some cooperative games then you better make friends or else you can't play. Oh sure that last part they don't mention but it sure comes down to that! Some games like the Elder Scrolls online does give you the chance to play solo, but the best gear is probably only in dungeons that you can only acces with a team. Once again the solo player is screwed! All this forced teaming up is something that some people hate, they don't hate other people but sometimes they just want to play solo and what's wrong with that?

Developers don't know what to do either?

In Destiny you first had no matchmaking for the weekly strike, which made it difficult for some players to earn strange coins (items you use to buy exotic weapons, gear and other interesting items) and you'd be careful with spending these coins. But Destiny got an update and now you had to play with other players in the weekly strike, so this meant for two player teams that they had to take another one with them and for solo players that they could finally get more strange coins in a week. I guess it also attracts a lot of leechers (people who don't play but take the reward for being a part of the team) and I guess that's one of the reasons why Bungie decided to get rid of matchmaking and now it's once again up to you to form a team or try to do it on your own. Is it so difficult to give the option to people? Instead of forcing people to do one or the other you could let them choose, then they decide what they want and nobody has something to complain about! Oh wait, some people always have something to complain about...
