Assassin's Creed: Syndicate
Have you seen the latest video of the new Assassin's Creed game? It looks pretty cool and offers some faster ways to travel through the game. It´s really cool to be able to travel fast and also the fighting system looks like a lot of fun. But will this wash away the foul taste of Assassin's Creed Unity? Let's hope so...
Who is the main character?
You play as Jacob Frye, a guy from the street that wants to unite the poor people in London to stand against the elite (in this case also the Templars). In the gameplay video you see him rallying the people and fight together against the Templar oppressors. He seems like a cheerful chap but also quite to the point, why sit and wait when you can do something right now? In the video you also see an ally called Mister Green (probably another assassin) and Miss Frye (probably his sister and also an assassin). Which roles they'll play remains to be seen but it all looks pretty good to me.
A faster way to travel?
Don't worry about travelling, you can take a carriage and move a lot faster through the streets. This comes in handy during a chase or when you want to take a place to hide in with you. There are also trains but I don't think that you can travel in those, unless some missions take place outside London. Then there is also the rope launcher, this device lets Jacob travel much faster when you want to get on a rooftop. Just aim up and you're up there before you know it. You can also travel from rooftop to another rooftop, for this you use the zipline and it's also a fast way to travel quickly. You can also use the zipline to surprise an enemy from above for a quick stealth kill.
There's still stealth?
Absolutely! With one press of the button you go into stealth mode and you play the game a bit differently, it's still a smart idea to go to a high point of view and tag enemies with your eagle vision. Then you know where the enemies and other people are and it makes it easier to take them down without raising the alarm. Jacob wears a top hat in normal mode but in stealth mode he wears a hood, this clearly lets you know when you're in stealth mode and when you're not. If you do get spotted you have excellent fighting skills designed for a brawler, so don't worry you're not exactly fragile!
Is this an improvement of Unity?
I think it is, but it still remains to be seen if this game can deliver. It's easy to say now if this game sucks but to be honest we don't know. We'll have to wait and see, but hopefully it's going to be a good game because Assassin's Creed games are usually a lot of fun and it would suck if it all goes downhill after AC Unity. But AC Syndicate keeps multiplayer out of the game so connection issues while trying to play with a friend are hopefully something of the past. I hope that AC Syndicate will be an amazing game and I have faith in it, now we just have to wait and see if it's going to be as much fun as I hope it will be.
