Dealing with other people online in games
When you play online multiplayer games then there's a good chance you'll encounter people you don't get along with, wether that's their behaviour or maybe even your own doesn't really matter at that point but dealing with it probably does. Sometimes it's easy to forget that the other characters on the screen are characters that are controlled by other players and they probably want to have a good time just like you, which means in some games beating you or working with you towards a goal. It's not easy to accept a loss or to work with others, for some it might be easier than others, but in online multiplayer you'll have to deal with other people wether you like it or not!
It´s not all about you?
As much as you like playing games and having a good time while playing games it's easy to forget that there are many other players out there with similar reasons playing games. But since we can't all be winners it means that some will have to lose, which sucks and if you have some bad winners (taunting or other immature behaviour) then it can be very rough for you. It's easy to hate, but it takes actually strength to accept it and move on to the next match. It definitely helps if you have a team of friends with whom you're familiar, because no matter how good some players are if they face a team of players that work well together then they´re in trouble! So instead of raging or hating you could try to form a solid team and beat the crap out of other people in a more sporting way.
Are you mad bro?
It's a typical response from someone that tries to annoy you, usually when they assume you're mad for losing or when someone kills you in the game. It's easy to tell him or her how you want to rip his or her head off, but I bet it feels even better beating them in the same game and then ask them the same question. Anger is never the solution, it usually only makes you worse at the game and has a destructive effect on your environment. Even if anger works in your advantage then you really have to ask yourself if this is what you want, because when you start playing games then it's probably for having a good time and not get mad at some random douchebag.
So how do you deal with other people online?
I'd say the best way to deal with them is to ignore them, a troll feeds on your responses so by ignoring them they'll move on eventually. If you don't feel like waiting then you can always leave and join another match. Life is too short to get all worked up over a game, why get mad when you can have a good time playing games? This doesn't mean that you can throw your microphone away and never say a thing, remember that there are also a lot of people out there that are friendly and could use some help sometimes. There's nothing wrong with being social and helping out other people might help you get some friends. Just remember that not everyone is looking for friends and sometimes people go online just to be annoying to others, so if possible evade the annoying ones and have a great time with friendly gamers. It's not as difficult as you might think, it just takes some patience and time.
