Microsoft is getting Silent Hills?

Let me first say that this is a rumor, a rumor that is difficult to believe. But if it's true then that's great news for Silent Hills fans! You probably heard before that Silent Hills was cancelled, which lead to a lot of disappointment and also anger. But if Microsoft could bring it back then that would be amazing, unfortunately rumors have the nasty habit of being false sometimes...


Why would this rumor be false?


Because it's difficult to believe, for example Microsoft would be paying more than a billion (another rumor) for Silent Hills and that seems like way too much for a game that will most likely not earn them that much money. With Silent Hills becoming an exclusive for the Xbox One it would be unlikely that they'll sell enough copies to break even or make a profit on this game, so why would they buy it for that amount of money? If Sony had issues with completing the game (it's rumored to be 80% completed) then how is Microsoft going to fix that? Are they going to spend even more money trying to finish the game? As much as I want to believe that it's true, my better judgement tells me that it's most likely a false rumor.


But what if it's true?


Ok let's pretend that it's real and Microsoft launches Silent Hills, that would be great news for all the Silent Hills fans! Assuming you have the Xbox One, otherwise you'll have to get one to play it. The playable teaser was very popular and I can assume that a lot of people want to play that game for real and not just that bit. Imagine some terrifying moments and puzzles that keep you longer in areas you just want to run through. Silent Hills was the first Silent Hill game for me that actually got me interested in it again after my horrible experiences in Silent Hill: the room and Silent Hill: Homecoming. Silent Hill needs a good game or else it's going to die a miserable quiet death, something it doesn't deserve! So yeah I hope that the rumor is true but it's just difficult to believe. Hopefully we learn more about this in the near future.

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Button bashing is nothing new but I do seem to see it in more and more games, even games that could easily do without this abusive way of treating your controller. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with. These kind of players are so serious that they probably left the fun behind when they started the game. Sigh... Serious gamers are lame gamers? Mortal Kombat X isn´t just another fighting game?

You´ve probably seen the announce trailer of Mortal Kombat X, then you probably also know that it shows two familiar characters fighting against eachother. At that point you´re probably still thinking that it´s just more of the same but with a better coat of paint, I understand that pessimist look and it´s not often wrong. But from what I´ve heard about Mortal Kombat X is that it´s going to be more than just a new game in the Mortal Kombat game series. What´s new? Apparently there will be more fighting styles for one character, giving everyone his or her own favourite style to use against opponents. There was something familiar in another Mortal Kombat game where they also had weapons in a fighting style, but this seems to go a bit deeper and more unique. Of course these are just words at this point, nothing has been proven just yet!
