Nobody cares about your gamertag?
When I first had to come up with a gamertag I took chose a name I used in Guild Wars for one of my characters, it´s nothing fancy but at least it was available. But after several years I had enough of that name, somehow people constantly thought I was from England and I wanted something else. So I changed my gamertag and that one wasn´t good either, it was a combination of two words and I used that hoping it would just blend in with the other bad/crazy/weird gamertags. But after some time I couldn´t help but hate my gamertag and I changed it again, this time I´m happier with it but does it really matter? I mean I changed my gamertag twice and spend about twenty Euros doing that, but was it really necessary? Probably not...
There is no shame online?
When I see certain gamertags then I can´t help but wonder what they were thinking when they chose that, I guess they weren´t thinking at all. Sometimes they think they´re clever by writing it in their native language and then only people that know that language know what it really means, but that doesn´t make it a good gamertag. The same counts for people that consider themself so good that they´re master this or mlg that and let´s not forget about other 'pro' gamertags. It´s almost as if people have no shame online, to use such a gamertag and then get destroyed in multiplayer would be embarrassing to me. But I guess some people rage quit before that happens or they just don´t care.
Does your gamertag say something about you?
It´s possible but I wouldn´t advice you to see too much in a gamertag, sometimes people just use some random nonsense and go with that. That also means that people that use gamertags with master or mlg aren´t always serious, sometimes it´s just a joke. But that doesn´t mean that everyone that uses these type of gamertags are making a joke, some are very serious. Maybe too serious. A gamertag is useful to draw attention, which can be both a good thing and a bad thing. But I doubt that your gamertag is very important, in the end it´s just a name you use online and others can recognize you with that name. You could call yourself almost anything and I doubt that people would really care about you or your gamertag, unless you go for something offensive but I doubt you´re going to keep that gamertag for long. My advice is not to think too much about it and don´t waste money on changing your gamertag, nobody really cares about it anyway. You´re just another random person online just like the rest of us.
