Rogue assassin in the new AC game?
Have you seen the Assassin´s Creed Rogue trailer? It looks pretty good and I´m even more excited about being right! The moment I heard that you play as a templar I already had the idea that this means that you probably play as an assassin that switches sides because if you wouldn´t have the skills of the assassin then the game would be played differently. Also I don´t see them stepping away from a popular gameplay mechanic, especially not in the last AC game for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. When the game was called Assassin´s Creed Rogue I was even more certain, but the details remain a mystery for now. Eventhough I have learned some things from the trailer.
So what can you learn from the trailer? First of all you look still kind of like an assassin with the hood on, but the colours you wear are more pointing towards being a templar. Later in the trailer the guy takes his hood off, which kind of symbolizes that he´s no longer an assassin. The rogue assassin even admits that he used to be an assassin but switched sides, he kind of mumbles on about good and evil and switching sides. Everything points out to the main character being a former assassin that now works for the templars and hunts down assassins. In the trailer you also see him walking towards a wounded assassin and just before he shoots him in the face the screen goes black. But I assume that this isn´t some undercover bullshit, you are a templar and you will kill assassins!
What makes this game so interesting? I think the fact that you can play as a templar, which is something I´m very curious about, is already the main reason why I want to play this game! But how about about you being the bad guy? To hunt down the assassins you helped in all the other games, now that will be interesting! I always prefer to see both sides of a story, it´s kind of boring if you only get to know a story from one perspective. So I´m glad that there is finally a game that shows you the other side, hopefully this is done well and that we can expect more games like this or at least offer and option to choose sides.
Of course there are a lot of negative comments out there about this game, apparently it will suck because it´s only avilable on the last gen consoles. Ah yes that makes perfect sense, what a good excuse to call a game lame! I guess some people just don´t like change, they´re so sucked into the whole assassin part that they can´t see anything else than that. Which is a shame because I think this game can be quite good. Then there are also people that have bad feelings about this game because the first trailer for this game only appears a couple of months before the launch of the game. Right, like that is a guarantee for a bad game. Honestly, people will say anything to annoy or talk shit about something. Then there are even people who complain that the main character is a woman. I guess some people will always complain and never truly be happy. But we´ll find out how good or bad this game really is when it launches at the end of this year!
