Looking back at.....Rampage: World Tour! (N64)

Games don´t always have to be fancy, sometimes all you need is just a character and an environment you can destroy. This is technically the idea of Rampage: World Tour, where you control one of three monsters and you can destroy a city. I won´t say that it´s like you´re Godzilla but to be honest it does come down to the same idea, because you destroy cities as a giant monster.

So all you do is destroy cities? That´s pretty much the idea, but destroying a city doesn´t go as fast as you might think. Eventhough you´re a giant monster, you´re not a giant monster that is so big that he can destroy a building with his foot. No you need to climb buildings and destroy it enough for it to collapse, at the same time you have to fight off the military and if you get wounded you can heal yourself by eating people. Of course there are also other things you can eat but not everything is good for you!

In Rampage: World Tour you can play as three different monsters. First of all you have George (the giant gorilla), then you have Lizzie (the giant reptile) and Ralph (the giant rat). I don´t think there is any big difference in their abilities, at least not what I can remember, but I would always go for Ralph because he looks a bit more scary than a giant gorilla and if you go monster then you better do it right! You can play with two other people and destroy cities together which is of course a lot more fun than playing solo. Don´t worry if you die because you can continue and yes that makes this game ridiculously easy, but it´s still fun to play with friends and just destroy everything!

But doesn´t that get boring? I guess if you play solo and play the game for many hours in a row, then it does feel repetitive and I wouldn´t recommend playing like that. Games like Rampage: World Tour are best played with a friend and if you decide to play solo then just do it for an hour. It´s a great way to blow off some steam when you´re full of rage because of another game or maybe something else has happened that made you angry. This game is pure fun, there is no real challenge and the idea is just to destroy everything! I do realize that this makes the game simple but also fun, this is something I like when I want to unwind a bit after some frustrating moments in other games. So if you always wanted to be a giant monster and destroy cities (yes you do travel around the world and get to destroy cities all over the world , big and small cities), then this game might be what you´re looking for!
